Overcard

Overcards are commonly discussed in the context of drawing hands, such as two overcards to the board that could pair up to make top pair. They're also used defensively; a scary overcard on a later street can represent a strong hand and induce folds even without connecting.

Count overcards as partial outs when your hand hasn't connected with the board, but discount their value since pairing an overcard doesn't guarantee the best hand. Be cautious continuing solely on overcard equity against a tight opponent's range, which may already dominate your overcards. Use overcard scare cards on later streets to represent strength and apply pressure. Combine overcard outs with any additional draws to get an accurate total equity picture.
