What Is Tank?
Tanking is common in high-stakes or tournament situations where a decision has significant consequences, and it's generally accepted as long as it doesn't cross into repeated, excessive stalling. Some players tank deliberately as a strategic tool, known as an 'angle,' to induce a reaction from opponents or to use up an opponent's patience.

Use genuine tank time for hands that truly warrant it, such as close, high-stakes decisions, rather than tanking on every hand out of habit. Be mindful that time banks are limited in most tournaments, so ration your tank time for the decisions that matter most. Watch opponents' tank tendencies over a session -- a player who tanks only on certain textures or bet sizes may be revealing information about their range. Avoid intentionally tanking to unfairly slow down or frustrate opponents, since most rooms and tours consider this a form of angle-shooting.
