What Is Suited?
Suited hands add roughly 2-3% equity compared to the same offsuit combination, primarily by adding flush and flush-draw possibilities. This extra equity is significant enough to widen playable ranges, especially for hands that are otherwise marginal, like suited connectors and suited aces.

Ace-King suited (AKs), one of the strongest starting hands in Hold'em.
7-6 suited, a speculative hand valued for its straight and flush potential.
Strategy Tips
Suited hands are worth playing wider than their offsuit counterparts, particularly suited connectors and suited aces, which retain strong flush and straight potential even when they miss a pair. Don't overvalue the suitedness alone -- a weak suited hand like 9-2 suited is still a poor starting hand overall. Suited aces in particular gain extra value from their nut flush potential and blocker effects against opponents' Ace-high hands. When calculating equity or building a range, remember that suited combinations make up only about 25% of all possible starting hand combos for a given two-card holding.
