What Is Squeeze?
The squeeze play leverages the fact that the original raiser now has to worry not just about the squeezer's range but also about the caller(s) behind, and the callers face a large raise with a hand that likely wasn't strong enough to 3-bet in the first place. This combined pressure often generates significant fold equity even with a wider range than a standard 3-bet.
Examples
Re-raising to 12 big blinds after a player opens for 3 and another player calls.
Squeezing with a suited ace after two players enter the pot for a limp and a raise.
Strategy Tips
Squeeze more often against loose openers and passive callers, since they're less likely to have hands that can continue against heavy pressure. Increase your squeeze sizing relative to a standard 3-bet, since you need to price out multiple opponents rather than just one. Choose squeezing hands with good blocker value or strong playability, such as suited aces and broadway combinations, since you'll sometimes get called and need postflop equity. Be selective about squeezing out of position, as you'll still need to navigate postflop play against a wider combined range.
