What Is Slow Roll?
A slow roll happens when a player who knows they have the winning hand pretends to hesitate, or even acts like they're about to muck, before finally showing the nuts. It's widely regarded as one of the most disrespectful moves in poker, since it needlessly draws out an opponent's anticipation of a loss.

Avoid slow rolling even as a joke -- it can escalate tension and damage your table image and reputation, especially in home games and regular live venues. Showing your hand promptly at showdown, win or lose, is the standard etiquette expected by most poker rooms. Some casinos and card rooms treat repeated slow rolling as a conduct issue that can result in a warning from the floor.
