Poker Rooms in Arkansas
Arkansas entered the commercial casino era following the 2018 constitutional amendment, quickly building out three full-service casino resorts. Only two of the three currently operate live poker rooms: Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff and Southland Casino Racing in West Memphis. Oaklawn, despite being the flagship racing venue and largest casino, focuses on racing-adjacent gaming rather than live poker. The state's poker scene is small but legitimate, serving a state that previously had no legal table game options.
Legal Framework
Arkansas voters approved Issue 4 in 2018, amending the state constitution to permit up to four commercial casinos. Licenses were awarded to four facilities: Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort (Hot Springs), Southland Casino Racing (West Memphis), Saracen Casino Resort (Pine Bluff), and Legends of Oaklawn (not yet open). Oaklawn does not currently operate a live poker room. Online casino gaming remains illegal.
