Above is my graph for the last two weeks of playing poker. The first 600 hands or so was a super small sample size of me playing super-aggro and getting on the right side of luck, eventually I crashed pretty hard and really started concentrating on respecting villain raises, keeping sessions under control, etc. I was also watching the coaching kristy series and trying to apply that to ... (continued)
Hey guys Idea entries are where I let you in on something that I think would work as a business idea. If you like it you can steal it from me, OR preferably get in contact with me and get something going ( jaimestaples@yahoo.com ). I can’t do these things on my own so might as well open them up for someone to do or get help. This week is a big one that I think a lot about. I haven’t naile ... (continued)
Just finished my session for the evening and told myself I would not look at my graph whilst playing. But I did. Wished I hadn’t. I have a serious tilt issue. It is this: If I lose a buy in at 2NL without winning one, I find it so difficult to get unstuck. It tilts me. Just knowing it’s so damn difficult to win 1 Buy in. And it shouldn’t be, right? The games are either so tight yo ... (continued)
Feel as if I have learnt a ton this past week about 2NL but more importantly about poker and how to play it effectively! I have fixed a lot of leaks and I feel as if my play has improved. I will post my thoughts on what I have improved on next week, when I have played the coming week and hopefully re-affirmed what I have learnt! On the whole I am really happy with this week ... (continued)
Had a pretty brutal session – couldn’t hit a flop in a 3 bet pot. So that never really helps. Stepped up the aggression at the end to try and recoup some loses – worked a little. :( Don’t think I played very well and got a bit fuzzy half way through. So I will probably have to grind out 5NL – which is great the 1st day of my blog and I am moving down – ha ha only to be expected though I guess. What fun!
You may recall I had coaching from Entity about midway through this month. Well, here’s a snapshot of November’s graph from Nov 15th onwards that I believe shows the impact Entity’s words of wisdom have had on my game. http://blog.obadonke.com/2010/11/30/the-entity-effect/
As a full ring grinder, one of the people I naturally look up to in poker is Nolan. The guy is a fantastic grinder who has sustained awesome results over millions of hands. One day my graph will look like his: Â Something to aspire to, anyway.
These are all my hands on Fulltilt, Non Showdown only. These are my stats, again, winnings left aside.Â
OK, so I was trying to come to terms with the fact that I sucked at poker, but I couldn’t work out why I was losing money and breaking even. So, I posted my stats and my graphs on the forums and I got some good feedback – when I was playing as the aggressor I was doing well, but when people started betting and raising into me I became a complete calling station. I went into Poker Tracker and ... (continued)
My goal for the rest of this year is to build a bankroll from playing micro-stakes Triple Draw cash games. My 3rd place in a $1.10 tourney has paid for my 6 month DC subscription so I will have to get busy building a bankroll. Why Did I Start Playing Poker? Unlike many others I don’t have an exciting poker story to share with you all. I kind of fell into poker after I had some serious health i ... (continued)
