Hi! As some of you may have noticed I have made a comeback at the tables, and also posted a few hands in the forums. I have also taken the initiative to start a studying group that now, already after just 6 days, have been giving me new insights in the game. It is great to study on your own, but when you do it with other people they can come up with questions that you may not have asked yourself, and everyt ... (continued)
Welcome to this blog! In August 2011 I started my little blog that tracked my weekly play starting 2NL. My plan was to move up from 50$ and make a name in poker world. I am good at math so I thought how tough it could be… I just play tight. This seemed to work at 2NL and did NOT work afterward. Large swings started to appear and I was not sure what I am doing wrong. I decided to relate it to run ... (continued)
Played an hour and a half session. 2 Tables. Good start! Got lucky on a few hands and got rivered on a few. That’s poker!
Today will be my first day playing 6 max 10NL. I will post my progress here daily. I’m a US player. I play at Carbon Poker. I’ve been playing 4NL for about 2 months now. It’s been an up and down struggle. I purchased Holdem Manager, signed up for DC and I’ve made a few adjustments and 4NL suddenly became not too hard. Now I’m rolled for 10NL and I’m not looking back. I don’t really expect ther ... (continued)
For like a month and a half ago, I posted this thread in the DC microstakes forums, where I ask how I should become better without paying for coaching. I was probably in a massive downswing, and I wasn’t paying enough attention to stacksizes and some other important stuff that I do now. I tried for like 2 weeks after this thread, to watch videos, take notes and so on. But still I was paying my monies to t ... (continued)
After stepping back into 10NL – after a 4 month break with a better game, one thing for sure has become apparent. At all levels of micro stake poker that I have encountered thus, there is no small edge that you exploit against opponents to optimize maximum value from a hand. I have read and watched numerous peeps discuss finding that small edge against an opponent and then exploiting and using ... (continued)
When I first started this blog in Feb 2011 I was messing about at 10NL. And now I’m back. But what I’ve found about moving up is that it is this kind of weird experience where you expect to keep crushing and things just stay the same as they were. What I think it actually is, is like a boxer stepping up in class. You know where a boxer or MMA guy is good and has put in decent results and had s ... (continued)
How would you like to remember everything you ever learn? Sounds too good to be true, I know, and probably impossible. Besides, I don’t wanna remember some of the random stuff I see on the internet. But there is a way to remember most or at least way more of the stuff you want to know. At the beginning of the 20th century, Hermann Ebbinghaus did some major research into memory and more specifically, retention. What he ... (continued)
I finally stopped thinking about it and did it. I just finished paying for my first coaching session on DeucesCracked. After floundering at $10NL for the last year off and on, I feel like I need the guidance of a more experienced player. Don’t get me wrong, the forums are great, but a little incentive for someone to benefit from helping you, goes a lot further than adding one more post to your total post count. I have been playin ... (continued)
3 months of breaking even at 10nl…harsh time yeah, but!.I only got myself to blame. To think that ur good enough to beat a lvl even thou the graph shows greatly that ur doing something wrong is being ignorant, lazy and stupid.Worst of all.i started blaming everything else but myself. But thanks to the guys i have in my group(after telling to shut the fuck up about my negative bitching) i came to realise that i havent put in the wo ... (continued)
