I begrudge all you people who were smart enough to start learning poker online. Damn me and my laziness for not doing so...

Since I am less and less interested in my area of studies - law - I am more and more serious about creating alternative paths for me. Poker will hopefully one day be such an alternative, since it is one of the few hobbies and interests that has managed to keep me fascinated for over 5 years. And come on, which lazy bum does not love the idea of "working" from home while wearing a bathrobe and sipping Martinis?

Been a member for awhile but just started taking the game more seriously and trying to get the most out of the forums. Lots of great knowledge within the community. Have watched and rewatched hundreds and hundreds of hours of videos. Think some of the coaches here are absolute geniuses in the way they look at the game. Have had coaching sessions with threads13 and inavacuum and look to continue with them as my disposable income becomes more available. Doing the micro grinding thing here in Ecuador, and enjoying my time away from the tables immensely, given Guayaquil has been such a fun, cool place to live.

Well, I bought a book and got a 30 day flashpass (I have no idea what that means, but guess I will find out...lol) So I am here for at least 30 days, but from what I have read on 2+2 and Cardschgat (My home forum) I reckon I will be extending when my trial is up.
I have been a pro musician for over 30 years, and have a long list of accomplishments. I own a small studio and am a guitarist/singer/songwriter/producer blah blah. One of my bigger claims to fame was a 2 year stint as bandleader of a late night show in Germany similar to Letterman. (PM if interested, I can send links) I have done everything from title music for a full length movie, music for a 52 part tv series, toured with (European) known artists, played everything from hard rock to classical music, and on and on.... I am also actually not bad.
I am a 10 and 25nl 6 max player and a MTT low stakes player. I play now pretty much full time since December since I quit the band I was in.. I have a 1 year plan and the BR to support it. Life remains an adventure.

DC member you wish you could meet: Not sure yet, but judging from the video "The 8-fold Path to Poker Enlightenment," Angelo seems to be a pretty interesting fellow.

Last summer, I played some friendly live games of NLHE with friends some of who are reasonably good players for that kind of setting. I really enjoyed it and sensed it was a rather complex game. When i was a child, I loved playing backgammon, another game with both winning strategy and an element of chance, so Poker has been a return to the gaming frame of mind.

I read some of Harrington's books because I want to know how to play properly. I watch videos because I want to know how to play properly. Hopefully, I will be posting my first hand history soon.

And my goal with poker... To be the best player I can be... It is a fascinating game.

Been playing losing poker for years now. Just recently discovered that this is probably due to a combination of terrible bankroll management and tilting. I am more of a gambler than a poker player (hence the terrible bankroll management and tilting), but I have always been inclined towards mathematics and have scored above the genius level on IQ tests - so I know the potential to be a winning poker player is in me somewhere! I'm hoping this site will help me quell my more Dionysian all-in habits with a more Apollonian approach!
