Pretty sure that the short stack's shove re-opens the action for the original raiser. The raiser increased the bet size by $1.10 as did the short stack, effectively the short stack min-3-bet.

I always rule of thumb it as the total bet size as opposed to additional raise size when setting up the situation, although you could be correct. If it is the additional raise size in this instance, it's only $1.00 so it definitely would re-open the action. If ever in doubt when it comes back to me in a spot like this I just double check(lazy) with the bet slider.
Again though in this spot I wouldn't hate over-calling even if I were to get squeezed after.
What are your thoughts on making all bets in late position pot size bets? So there is no 3XX or a min raises on the button.

You can, but I don't like to as much, simply because it increases the overall variance. With my range being as wide as it is from late positions, a 3X allows for a higher SPR postflop, which I prefer when playing marginal hands in bloated pots, even in position. It allows often to play the hand more profitably, while reducing the threshold of commitment.
But again, you certainly can.

i've been thinking about this off and on since you posted it. on the one hand, we like to play bigger pots in position. on the other hand, there are lots of meh hands that we want to play here and are only playable because we are in position. like say 3 bad players limp and we're OTB with a567 with nut suit, or akj9 or a222 or kk88 or something else marginal. i think a pot preflop would definitely be at a equity disadvantage, so it doesn't achieve anything for us that way
and we're already in position, so we don't gain anything that way. we may get some folds preflop where we pick up a small blind or two right there but whatever hands call us are going to be doing well against us i think. also, i've seen a small amount of limpreraising in this game, which would be annoying. we do build some postflop fold equity when we play this way preflop but there are going to be lots of board textures where firing a cbet 3handed or even heads up might be a bad play.
so i'm more on the side of not always potting it right now.
unless you are not talking about limping hands, but only hands you want to raise OTB after limpers. in that case, i'm not sure on that, and will get back to you ![]()
i will say that i see things like everyone limps, sb minraises, and i just start laughing. perhaps it's a good play and i haven't figured out how or why yet?
