Blog?
Well, I’ve decided to hop aboard the blog wagon as a method of encouraging myself to put more volume in. Embarrassing myself when not meeting my goals should hopefully behoove me to play more. I currently am a 50 NL HU player, who started playing poker around a year ago. I currently play “full-time†but have not been putting in the volume to be deserving of that title. In January, I have played less than 10K hands, although I’ve put in about 25 hours live in the last week with less than stellar results, and as such, am going to be focusing my efforts on heads up for the rest of the month. I want to finish the month strong and take shots at 100 NL (Although I am a bankroll nit.)
January has been less than great in terms of my EV, which has resulted in little volume. I need to change gears and not find encouragement from my bottom line, but from achieving volume goals and by playing well.
As a side note, I will be competing in a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu tournament in April. My current schedule is practice 4x a week for 3 hours, with 3 gym sessions a week for about an hour to two hours. My goal in the next week is to clean up my diet. Having something outside of your life that you can directly control the results of can be a great catalyst in living a much happier life as a grinder. It is a great source of stress relief, and it helps me maintain my health. When you start to weigh your self-worth based on your poker results, it can have really detrimental effects to the happiness of your life.
Will finish off the post with my graph of January. Hopefully I can achieve about 1500/hands a day for the rest of the month.
