Back into the thick of things.

Had my first coaching session with Linkwood since coming back to poker.

Recorded the session, just rewatched it and I have to say there is so much win there! I really enjoy our in depth conversations about hands that come up, specifacly about all aspects, hand ranges as they apply to opponent types, getting max value from strong hands, and especially different ways to play certain hands and the pros and cons of chosing each road available on the map in situations. Looking very much forward to continue working with Ron. After coaching session had a poker session, made close to 4 buyins! So much win!..

I think one aspect of coaching that is good is to record your sessions with video and sound, cause if your working with a player who is there to help you over a period of time its like developing your own road map to success and to have that road map recorded is so much win. Like Beluga whale says we need to develop a plan and stick to it, even in down time, because if we stick to our plan, and its a good plan, downswings will come and go, but if we let downswings effect our plan and make us waver from it then those downswings may turn ugly. Andrew also makes the tennis analogy (In the series Coaching Kristy Episode 4) when refering to the downswings.

•  In tennis he states, when you hit the ball too far you adjust by hitting it less far. 
  
• THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS IN POKER!!!!
• You follow the process of hitting the ball correctly and no matter where it goes your happy that you did it right!
  

So essentially what Im trying to say is if you invest in working on your game with a coach, and he puts in his time to adjust your game and work on developing the most solid game he can, you start to make the changes with time and work on it. Isn't it good to always have it saved so that when you are running bad or feel like you are playing sub par and wavering from this plan you developed, you can just with a few mouths clicks watch the video (which is tailored to your game) and adjust back to your successful plan.

I am really feeling good at the tables right now!
