I think something that is often overlooked in the poker community is the approach to your mental game when on a heater. The month of April has been quite kind to me at the LLSNL tables here in Vegas. For the first time in my career, rather than being on a good run and thinking that I am the greatest player ever, I have seized the opportunity to slow down and make sure that I am making what I think is the highest EV play, while in a great mindset. Another thing that I have began doing is reviewing big hands that I have won and, rather than assuming that I made the right play just because I won the pot, realizing that I still missed value or actually made a bad play even though it "worked."
Something that Bart Hanson really hammers home in both his podcast and live training videos, is image at a live table. Players at low stakes live usually don't see loose or tight, but winning or losing. When you are controlling the table and have a winning image, these are the times to play your longest sessions, as you can literally clean up the stacks.
Keep an eye out for future episodes of Badugi Allstars. Mitch gets a minute, Nixonthegrouch, 2fouroffsuit, and Tecmo ramble (this week with Krantz), And I will be reviewing poker rooms across Vegas
For the first time in years I have no money on an online poker site. Even after BF, I snap deposited on Merge. Some crazy run good, combined with what I think was pretty good play made me a few bucks pretty quick. Unfortunately a move combined with a job search has forced me to take out all poker funds and focus on life. I'm seriously craving some pokerz. Hopefully after I lock down a job I can really focus on some live play, and if you follow Dusty Schmidt at all there are some pretty strong hints that we will have online poker at some point. *fingers crossed* I really only have one passion in life right now and it's poker. Hopefully I'll be back to pursuing the dream soon.
I min-deposited on Merge right before they stopped offering rakeback, just to lock it in. Haven't really had time to put in a ton of volume. I started playing a little 4nl just to get back in the flow, but this is mainly a mix of 10, 25, and 50nl. I ran like hell at 10nl and still beat the games pretty good. I am running really well at 50nl. I think the real story is that games are good and I have been table selecting better than ever before.
