Quick update for the sake of keeping things current.
First – despite a ridiculous tilt/too many table session where I dropped a boat load of BI’s, I’m well ahead of all my monthly goals already, with a fair few sessions to go before the end of the month.
Considering this was the first time I’d set any real goals to follow through on, I’m now a little apprehensive about playing and falling back under my goals, as this would basically put me on life tilt. I realise how idiotic that is, so of course I will keep playing, but probably not with the same volume as I usually put in (I’m pretty close to hitting one of the iron man levels at full tilt, so I’ll be playing at least that much). Of course I’m also cognisant that the more I play the quicker I can get to the next level, which then has a compounding effect as you move the timeline forward in terms of progression. Ugh.
Another factor being that moving to the next level involves a 2.5x max BI jump rather than a 2x, so it takes a little longer than usual.
Second – whoever decided that rakeback should be paid weekly gets a chocolate, much better to get smaller instalments that one big instalment at the end of the month in my opinion.
Third – this makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. http://jamsym.blogspot.com/
Easily my new most fav blog, partly because of my approach to money is basically north/south when compared to this guy but also just the sheer lunacy that someone like that must have buried within. So much gamble. Although, he’s obviously quite confident in his abilities, and only young, so being able to take 4k and turn it into 15 less than half a month later probably means he’s entitled to take shots if he feels like it. His skill edge at 1/2 means that even if he were to busto his roll, getting a stake and getting back on his feet would take only a matter of weeks.
Probably helps that he doesn’t seem to have any sort of RL obligations.
Probably getting TL;DR so I’ll end it here.
ps: wish the DC coaches would update their blogs more – as an aside is there somewhere that I can track if they do?

GL with your goals. Be careful of setting goals outside of your own power, i.e. winning specific amounts. Better to keep it to playing a certain volume, working on specific aspects of your game, watching certain videos, etc...the cards are going to fall however they are going to fall we can't control that, we can control the decisions we make and the time we put in.
