So july didn’t work out so crash hot, kicked off the month down and then managed to get rostucko like 8 times before dropping the buyins again, I think with rake and everything calculated in I basically was treading water.

I’m just pretty sure I’m making some horrendous calls atm, “lol I have two pair I call”, its its costing me a little bit, so I definitely failed to achieve last months goals which is a bit of a worry, but nonetheless I’m still at 25NL and didn’t have to drop down so that can only be a good thing I guess, and I’m quite comfortable at the game now so that’s a plus as well I guess.

August, the goals are as follows:
+10 BI pokering
+10 BI rakeback.
I got a nice 200 dollar bonus from FT as well, so it would be nice to bank that in addition ot the other two, a nice little bankroll booster.

Should that happen , then I will be getting closer to 50NL which is nice, but no matter what happens I will be playing 25NL until at least the end of September, barring a rediculous heater of sorts, because I tend to freak out when my br goes below 30BI for whatever reason. Also, the jump from 10NL to 25NL is a bit bigger just because its 2.5x the buying, whereas 25→50 is only 2x and makes the maths of jumping up and down a little more palatable. And, 50NL is much closer to 100NL, which is my target by the end of the year, which would be super super nice haha.

August has kicked off a little better, I think I’m up 2BI at the moment in very few hands, and I’ve definitely ended up on some pretty juicy tables of late which is nice as well.

Oh something else that I saw today, in the micro NL forum theres a pretty bonkers thread where all the coaches have dropped in and written something and its probably the most informative thread I’ve seen on DC in like forever; there was a good one a while ago on AK but it seems like theres been an edict from the Chief DCers that the coaches need to post in micro threads or something and they all chose that one? Gold mine, iyam, and ties in nicely to my “two pair I call” problem.

what else…. work blows, and I started crossfit at a local affiliate and I can barely move, but its time to get back in shape after three years of corporate laziness. I’m massively jealous of the gusy that run it, have no diea if its profitable or not but I assume it is, they work three hours a day in a gym, nice work if you can get it.

I have the most ginormous headache in the world, possibly caused by caffeine withdrawals, v v difficult to do anything productive =(

played a short session last night before going to see a movie, made about a buyin without any significant hands in about 400 hands. I really feel like I have an edge over the people I play at these stakes now, whereas about 15 days ago I felt like I was pushing a boulder up a steep hill. Funny how that turns around, I assume I’m just on the positive side of variance for the minute but whatevs, all aboard the run good train, choo choo.

6 or so buyins down for the month so far…. can I make it to breakeven? stay tuned to find out, rofl/fml. Just FYI, I’ve had three sessions this month where I lost 6/8/6 buyins on induced tilt. Might be time to institute that stoploss.

Saw harry potter last night. It was pretty good, but I thought they emphasised some things to the detriment of others, which probably made the movie better but lead to a less faithful reproduction of the book and really didn’t give as good an idea of some things that were really focussed on in the book. Also, McGonnagall is starting to look really really old, like prehistoric old. hermione is starting to look like she could land someone in jail.

Also, random incident from my weekend, I was in a car that someone let off one of those foam fire extinguishers in. Observations:
1) This is funny as all shit as long as its not your car
2) that foam stuff is kinda weird and all four of us got kinda sick
3) it stains upholstery

Can I find a fold on the river? I’m not sure, I mean the minraise sucks but the 3 doesn’t help him at all usually – particularly after calling two reasonable bets imo. Then I’m only worried about a stray 6 (he had kinda fishy stats so I’m not worried about a better J), but he would have raised big on earlier streets because thats what he does.

observations:
1) he obviously knows a shit tonne about the game
2) I’ve obviously got a tonne to learn
3) its really easy to misapply concepts that you talk about if you don’t think about it afterwards
4) I will be doing it again.

In other news, thinking about starting up at crossfit, although I watched a friend of mine (who was encouraging me to start) do something called fight gone bad the other day, and he threw up afterwards, which scares me a little because he’s much fitter/stronger/more athletic than I.

Then he said something about a workout called “filthy fifty” or something which apparently is harder? fml.

Good idea to start it off now though, before it gets too hot in summer, in my opinion.
