Ongame

I just came back from the gym and finishing my recovery drink while writing this. I finally moved my bankroll out from the nitfest that is ipoker network. Withdrawal takes 1-2 days so I can't get back to grinding until tomorrow or friday. I have played Ongame network before and I think that the games are pretty soft if you just table select well. I will be focusing this now A LOT. You can mark players with color codes so I will be avoiding tables with red (=regs) and playing with the green (=fish) :). Here is stats of my all games on the ongame network, these are played on february and march 2011 (6-4 tables)

These games have gone okay, unlike rush poker where I played 100k hands breakeven and was losing my mind in the end. I might post stats from that later on, I'm still trying to figure out what the hell I did so wrong or did I just run so bad (maybe both?).

I have also played HUSNGs and Im very interested at those but the problem is that I'm very bad at sng math and I really don't know much about the strategies. Here is my games so far

Just barely breaking even with good rakeback. Anyone have s good recommendations where to learn HUSNG strategies for the micro stakes? I mean, just to learn the basics for the most part for starters. I have watched all episodes of Saibot new series tho, and it's really good and got my interest back to HUSNGs. I probably will be mixing with both this and next month, grinding NL50 ja playing (and learning) a few SNG's at the same time. Well, next update when I get my bankroll back to Ongame. Take care!

Played two sessions

I read my first post again and I realised this is probably not going to be too interesting blog. But the main thing is to keep this to myself and get me into a habit of reviewing my sessions. I played two sessions yesterday and felt pretty good with 4-tabling. Ideal would be playing two 2-3 hour sessions in day and make a review session afterwards. Up two buy-ins so far!! I played those sessions on ipoker network and must say that NL50 is much better on Ongame.. going to move my bankroll back there soon. Ipoker seems to be full of shortstackers (better ones) and regs. Couple of hands below:

Villain was reg 23/17/27 w/ 3bet 5 from BB, he had 3bet me a couple of times before. Im not sure of my call preflop. Checked back the turn since i feared he might c/ship ai w overpairs and draws, when river came I didnt think he would turn his own pairs into a bluff and though that he have me beat here more often than not.

This was aggressive villain 30/27/27. He had called my 3bet oop w/ TT before and c/raised J88 flop and called shove. His hand looks just like a jack on the turn but I couldn't lay it down bc of the previous history.. maybe I should fold here usually?

My first 3bet at this table against a villain who seemed to be a basic tag. I think I missplayed this pretty horribly. It might be best just bet the flop and give up when called? On the river Im not repping much since I will be barreling nut fd and I don't have a clue about his range here since we've played only 50 hands so far... I always seem to make this kind of mistakes couple for the session :)

First post

Hi grinders!

I’ve decided to open a blog here for a couple of reasons. I chose DC to place a blog since I feel like this is good and friendly community which will give me back a lot as long as I’ll give in. I’m 27 year old guy from Finland and I have been playing poker for about two years now. I have always been very lazy to review my sessions or post hand histories. I feel like if I have active blog running it will force me to participate on forums, review my sessions and also force me to put in a good amount of volume every week.  I’m currently unemployed and I feel like that since I have so much free time why not put that time to use and do something creative. To balance my life with poker I study history in the open university and I’m trying to get in for the next year to study it fulltime. Other thing is to get my ass back to shape and I’ll start that with going to the gym at least three times a week. First day was actually yesterday and after a month break I must say I felt pretty damn good afterwards!

At the same time I’ll post this blog this is the time for me to start taking this game seriously. No more brain-dead 12 tabling grinding, no more monkey tilting (something I might write more about later on)  and no more lazing. I will start at NL50 level with 3000$ which will give me a good 60 buy-ins for the start. I think I will try to take a shot to a next level after I have 50 buy-ins and if I fall back, I will drop down level again. I will cashout all of my rakeback earnings since it will force me to learn poker because I have to climb up levels with my straight poker winnings. I’ll start playing at Ongame network and will be 3-5 tabling. I will concentrate on good game selection and note taking... two things I haven’t paid too much attention in the past. I’ll try to update this blog at least a few times a week and I will cover all sessions I have played during the week. I might make some goals for the week or for the month later on.

Last thing for this blog is trying to improve my English. As you can see it’s pretty bad shape and I’m making lots of grammatical errors all the time. My speaking skills are even more horrible. I think I can get better if I just want it enough. That’s all for the first post, I’ll update next time after I’ve played my first session and maybe write more about my life in general. See ya!
