Mission 500

We are not results oriented at DC right ;-) Bankroll took a hit, but thanks to Rakeback (everybody plays these days with rakeback right?), no problems.

Looking at the results you wouldn't think so but I learned a ton of stuff this month!
Problem areas -
Been playing way to loose.
Calling too much, not giving villain credit for a hand.
Playing too long without a break.
TILT!!!!!!!

Sounds wierd looking at the results, but my feeling is that I am playing way better already. Tilt cost me a few buyins. Playing too long and just clicking buttons was also a problem. Lots to work on this month.

Yep looking forward to June. Still loving DC. Baluga, WiltonTilt and Tubasteve - awesome videos guys.

very swingey month.

Positives
Doubled number of hands since last month.
Tightened up a lot.
More aggression in the right spots against the right players.
Getting more streets of value with big hands (thanks baluga).
Cleared FullTilt Bonus.
Moved from 2 tables to 3 tables (winrate stays the same but too small a sample to make any conclusions)

Negatives
still calling on the river way to much. WTSD 31.2%. Can’t seem to give villian the credit for a good hand. Big problem this month. Need to work on this.
Not table selecting enough and playing too long on a nitty table.

Satisfied with my first month back playing. Managed to get a reasonable amount of hands in. The downswing began when I switched from Stars to FT. For me the rackback/bonus is more interesting than FPPs. However as you can see, 1000 hands in and already 4 BI’s down! Can never seem to get anything going at FT.

No PT3 is not for me. The HUD is driving me crazy. No wonder they have a 60 day trial. You need that long to work it all out. Time to checkout HEM and see why its a favorite on DC. Only a 15 day trial though. One feature I liked on PT 3 was the “Mark hand for review” in the hud. I hope HEM has this also. It makes it so much easier for session reviews.

Time to move on from PokerOffice 2. Seems most people of DC prefer HEM. Just downloaded the 60 trial of PT3. Gonna first give that a try. Installation was a breeze, and first impressions are good. I believe HEM also has a trial on offer.

Ok signed up for DC. Time to start getting more serious about Poker.

I need goals.

Mission 500 is the title of this blog. I calculated that I have blasted through 500 dollars since starting poker in 2006. Sound like a lot but this includes a lot of books (Harrington on HoldEm, Harrington on Cash, Headsup, etc etc !!),magazines and the DC subscription. The main goal for this year is to build the bankroll to $500. That may be ambitious considering the microstakes I am currently playing (10NL).

Goals

Play 5000 hands per month.
Study 5-10 videos per month.
10-20 Forum posts per month.
Clear the Pokerstars FPP bonus (currently at 20%).
Clear FT bonus

Finally took the plunge and signed up for DC. 6 month subscription. I have always been impressed by the website and now the videos!
