Been a busy Week

I will post a more organized, thought out approach every couple of days. Just been a bit of back and forth so I decided to nit it up at 10NL and it is already paying off decently.

Tomorrow will start my new layout and approach to updating this. It should be fun, interesting and yet another way to keep me motivated at the micros.

Been a slow couple days

I will post a complete break down later but mainly my last day or two has consisted of going up a couple Buy-ins, get 1 or 2 outed on the turn or river and lost a couple buy-ins, and eventually settled in slightly positive. Variance has been INSANE, at least I have been getting all the money in good.

Up and Down and all around

Ended yesterday about where I started. Thought I was headed to Value City and kept showing up at Suck Out town.

More later. LATE start to my day by about 6 hours!

Figured out what all the talk of Donkaments is about

I thought I might play in some micro stake MTT and low FPP buy-in tournaments such as the $1.10 $2000 guarantee and the 20fpp $1000 turbo tourny. WOW are they insane, especially the turbo. Over 6500 started the tourny and by first break only like 1700 were left, all-ins everywhere with everything. The $1.10 was better I just couldn’t get a hand to save my life.

I will still be playing them here and there but I am probably going to focus more on the 45 man and less SnG’s.

Day 1 results

Getting a later start to my day then I had planned but Fantasy Football got in the way this morning. Speaking of Football…good ole Detroit Lions look as terrible as ever..yay…

Ok onto what this whole blog is about! I will post a couple of my big hands just because my biggest losing hand of the session was only $.30!

Poker Room: PokerStars
Game: 10NL 6 max
Starting bankroll: $91.28
Hands Played: 745
Hours: 2.95
Amount Won: $31.50
BB/100: 21.14
$/100: $4.23
BB/hour: 53.39
$/hour: $10.68
Ending Bankroll: $122.78

Overall it was a good session! I had been playing Full Ring and SnG’s at Full Tilt and did pretty well but was mostly a slightly losing to break even in Full Ring cash games and slightly up in SnG’s. I actually have more than $100 if it was to be needed, I just deposited $100 since getting money on only takes a few seconds, getting it off takes a week+ so if I were to go bust I can just reload (knock on wood). The reason it started at $91 is because I messed around with some 7 2 and Stud and have never played them online and won’t be any time soon again!

Not much to be said about this hand, I was just worried about getting all the money into the pot somehow and I was fortunate he caught a good enough hand to oblige. This was one of my first few hands, great way to start out! I have had no luck online getting any money in the pot when I hit quads so this was nice.

This hand I had gone a few rounds without getting a hand that is even remotely playable at this table as there has been a lot of raising, reraising and all-ins. Decided to play A10s UTG and it worked out beautifully.

First session over, starting out strong

Just a quick note, just finishing up my first session 4 tabling 10NL. Up about 4 buy-ins over a couple hours, no coolers or even big hits taken which is a first for me I believe. I am really working on plugging leaks and and taking this as serious as 1/2 live and it is definitely showing.

I am going to go over my session and post the things I found most interesting as well as a complete break down every day or 2. If anyone has any ideas about how to lay it out and what to include I am open to suggestions.

Check back tomorrow,Sunday, around 12-1pm est. time.

I am not some self-professed poker all-star, quite the opposite actually. I know the game but am far from killing the online stakes at any level.

This will be my first real attempt at making money playing poker online and following good bankroll management.

Strategy as of right now is to be grinding 10NL and the $5 DoN’s until I have enough bankroll to move up in the stakes. I want to get up to 100NL as soon as possible but need to grind my way up as I am starting with a couple hundred dollar deposit and getting 100% bonus at PokerStars. It appears I have 3 months to deposit up to the full $600 the bonus is eligible for so I may do that later just to get the “free” money.

Ok, that is all for now! I will be posting highlights of and low spots of my sessions and keep a running tally of how I am doing (or not doing if that is the case).

Look forward to doing this as it helps me to really concentrate on my game and the feedback I hope to receive will be invaluable to my improving.
