Remember The Milk

My flatmate Rick suggested a long time ago that I should use a program like “Remember the Milk” to organise my tasks. Well, I installed it yesterday, and it turns out that there is a plug-in for GMail too – which is awesome for an email junkie like myself.

One thing I have started doing, which stops me from losing focus during a session, is I can just pop in a note such as “15th analyse KhQ hand on monotone flop”, and it will automatically create a task with a deadline of Friday next week. Even better, because it is a new toy, I did the analysis way ahead of schedule:

Poker Stars $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold’em – 5 players – View hand 451777
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

BB: $207.95
UTG: $101.70
CO: $156.50
Hero (BTN): $103.30
SB: $133.65

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN with Q of clubs K of hearts
1 fold, CO raises to $2.60, Hero calls $2.60, SB calls $2.10, 1 fold

Flop: ($8.80) 3 of hearts J of hearts 5 of hearts (3 players)
SB checks, CO bets $5.85, Hero raises to $20.15, SB folds, CO raises to $153.90 all in, Hero folds §

I raised here because I figured he could easily be bet-folding top pair, a pocket pair with a of hearts, or just random junk with an A hi that I would like to fold out now; I don’t think that there are any two-pair in his range. Even if he was bet-calling with any of those I have good equity and can check behind the turn if I miss totally. Even if I hit my top-pair after he bet-calls, I think that I can fold easily if led into because all of his bet-calling range has some showdown value and it is unlikely that he will lead into such a strong raise unless he beats at least a pair (his most likely bluff hands, A of heartsx of purple horseshoes without a pair, he shoves on the flop almost all the time), and I don’t think he will turn a weak made hand into a bluff very often when I can be committed to calling with a draw on the turn and can easily have a hand like a set or a baby flush on the river (after checking back the turn).

In the actual event, he shoved over my raise. His range here is A of heartsx of purple horseshoes, made flushes, Q of heartsQ of purple horseshoes (not many combos left) and some aggro opponents will have a set here some % of the time too. I don’t think this is ever pure air, because I can have a draw that is committed with A of heartsx of purple horseshoes so often and will be snap-calling every time. So, the correct play is to fold.

§ Sadly, I went through this entire though process (before raising) and then tilt-click called anyway because he snap shoved and that is what tilt-monkeys do. Obviously I go it in drawing dead to A of heartsx of hearts. sigh
