Turning the Tide

Just finished up my little bet and went over 20 hrs for the 4 day period. I don’t think I could play much more than 5 hrs per day regularly, maybe 6 but 8 would definitely be too draining to do more than a few days a week. The reason is because I like to think and gain reads while I play, and soak up some of the action I am not even involved in. Playing a ton of tables for long hours would probably lead to a lot of autopiloting, but on the other hand only playing 1-3 hrs a day isn’t going to get me where I want to be fast enough. My target for this month is still 80 hrs of play, but I may pump that up to 100 hrs for May as I think 5 hrs a day 20 days a month sounds like a pretty reasonable schedule.

Now that I am done the four days straight of play, I am taking the weekend off. First order of business is getting to the beach tomorrow – I vowed I would get to the beach much more than last summer, and it’s starting this weekend. Second order of business is the NBA playoffs starting – Go Suns and Magic!!! When I am not at the beach or playing basketball I plan to be watching all the playoff games I can this weekend.

PS 1 – FU Cake Poker… their games are nearly dead now that two of their major skins left to the Merge network. Then I was playing PLO HU there yesterday against a spaz, I get AAxx in the big blind, button raises, I go to 3bet and the betting buttons disappear! I couldn’t click bet or raise, anything. It then also folded my SB with the same problem. I emailed Cake and they would only give me my blinds back, and didn’t even apologize. The games there aren’t good anymore, so putting up with their software and service is no longer worth it, I cashed out big and am looking to get the rest of my money out of there soon.

PS 2 – GO Full Tilt! I am a big fan of Rush Poker as well as the new buyin minimums. Today they added 100 PLO Rush which is awesome! I played it almost exclusively today. The rake at 50 PLO Rush was so brutal it wasn’t that worth playing, I was hoping they’d add 100 and my prayers were answered. Expect to see me in those games very often in the near future.
