Updated the white blog layout
First - for those who don't know - you can update your blog theme in the control bar that you blog from (http://www.deucescracked.com/blogs/yourusername).
Anyway - I decided to update the white blog template over the weekend. I'm working on learning more about the design and programming framework of DC to help us develop features and improve the site more quickly when I have an opportunity.
Let me know what you think, or if you notice any bugs in it. I've tested in a few browsers (we aim for compatibility in IE8+, Chrome, Safari and Firefox). Will be testing in mobile browsers (mobile Safari / iPad Safari) later today.

Sweet. Digging the changes. Like how posts are delineated/differentiated. Is is possible to increase the font size of the archive posts though? They are super tiny now (at least for me).

Love it, thanks Rob.

Fixed the font sizes on the archive stuff Tecmo. Also pushed a few more changes to give IE8 more depth since it sucks at supporting modern CSS and redid the comment stylings.

Awww I lost all my views :( Gotta grind back up to the top 10 now.

Hmm those blog views should have migrated over - I'll see if I can figure out why those aren't working.

yeah my blog views disappeared too :(
Also - what sort of views is that views figure composed of?
Entity posted on February 08, 2011 at 01:06 AM
The data is still there guys. If you're on the black template I haven't updated that code and won't be able to for a few days.
Views are just individual hits - if I load your page 8 times it counts as 8 views. Your own views don't count toward your counts though.
Edit: Looks like the data will need to be restored as some of it did get corrupted. We'll get it fixed, though it'll be missing today's data unfortunately.

haha - thats reassuring.......otherwise I would be concerned, even more so than now , that I am a lil too self absorbed :)
Entity posted on February 08, 2011 at 02:06 AM
Yeah - we're hoping that we can get it restored in the next day or so. Unfortunately it's stored in a different backup and the first restoration only partially worked, so we're going to have to pull from backups to get it all back.

the white theme is now cool! black theme was better before only because white theme was so bad. i predict a surge of switches cause nobody likes thinking they're on a myspace page nowadays if they can help it.

New layout looks nice although I'm not a fan of the comment layout. Too much white space, would look a lot cooler if the comment was next to the picture (straight under the Posted By... line) instead of below it.

Hey Rob. Editing the info doesn't work. When I click info, and then click in the actual box, it just goes away before I can delete/edit.

So weird, my views haven't disappeared, but they have been decimated by a lot down to 40% original (I use the black template, FWIW).

Amaryllis, editing the info works just fine - you have to make sure that your mouse stays hovered over the info window though. If you keep running into problems let me know what browser you're using but that shouldn't matter.
http://grab.by/8Qlj for a screenshot of me proving that it works for me (logged in on your account to make sure it wasn't an account-specific thing somehow).

Rob,
It works perfectly in IE. It definitely doesn't work in Chrome. Tried two different machines. When I click in the description box, the whole drop-down thingy disappears in one or two seconds. No biggy though.
The changes look great. You always do fantastic work.
