Math Geek grinds micro stakes

I am so used to rush PLO so much that I was not comfortable playing regular tables.

Now that I have built up my roll I have decided to take a shot at PLO50 tables. The tables get crazy action on weekends.
few minutes ago this guy was on deep tables playing 92/52/30 and putting everyone at tilt.
He was running super hot and playing some spots aggressively. He would fire pot if you checked previous street. The bets made sense in some spots but doing it 100% predictably can easily be exploited.
I need to start thinking more how I would exploit maniacs like this.
This is so different from rush PLO - LOL.
The guy calls 4bets with a863r and flops 843r. AA stacks off obv and loses.
He is sitting with 10 buyins on 2 tables now.

I was playing well and winning but I did not want to get into variance fest and lose confidence especially when I just moved up.
Having one guy like this loosens up whole table and makes it fun to watch.

I failed to reach my goals for December.

I also did not play many hands due to holidays, travel, work, etc.

But I did manage to play live - 1/2 NL mainly mixed with $60 MTT, 2/5 PLO.

After 30 hours of live play I was up $100 - LOL.

2/5 PLO was fun for the few hours I played and the game broke.

I would definitely play again. I feel I have huge edge there.

The laziness carried over to 2011 and getting addicted to FIFA 11 did not help

I played PLO after many days today.

I was playing well, won few hands but gave back an lost some more.

I quit knowing that I am playing just for the sake of playing.

Review 3 PLO videos deeply probably theory.

Watch at least 5 PLO videos for entertainment/learning.

Watch 3 mental game videos.

Participate in at least 10 DC PLO forum threads and try to articulate my instinct in terms of ranges.

I want to start blogging on non poker things that take up big part of my life. I think it is good way to remember that there is more to life than poker. Since you can only improve in life hobbies  (no downswings) I want to start with them. Nobody wants to hear bad beat stories so I will try to stay away from life beats.

Photography Update: Cleaned my lenses and bought a remote this week.

Golf Update: Great thing about living in warm place is that you can golf in winter. It was windy 55F yesterday and the course was all dry and brown.  I got 2 hours of practice in -  mostly full swing and some chipping. The swing coach tries to correct one fault and it messes up entire swing. :-(

I played average, probably my B game.
Just ran bad and some coolers.

I also tried big bluffs which did not work although my lines made sense to me but villains liked their hands in spite of rivers.

 

I know this is probably standard in PLO but it sucks!

Lost every flip and every 80-20.

 

 

Last year I blew most of my roll playing PLO50.
I blames bad luck, lags who play any 4.

But the fact is that I had just started and I jumped into PLO50 deep ante tables knowing just some basic equities.
This year I spent big part of my roll on coaching dropped down and started grinding.
I won a lot initially but then I just went into roller coaster swings.
I had some leaks and was playing in bad state of mind during summer vacation.
I was winning but barely.

After summer I started studying more while playing short focussed sessions.
My results improved and running hot helped me boost my roll.

August started off bad. Losing buyins and recouping them.
But I have been running good past week.

 

Played lot of PLO this weekend - 4 sessions 10 hours and 4700 hands.
Some interesting hands.
I ran incredibly hot and played well.
