Home again!? and I miss the best part?

Just got back from Vegas and my subsequent trip to Bonnaroo!

Played a good amount of live poker at the Rio and some at the Wynn. Overall ran amazing except in the spots where it really counted. So meh, but made that up playing online while I was there which is always nice. My overall consensus is that the Rio offers the softest games at the price of worse dealers/floor people/chairs/food/ and everything else related to the overall experience. Sometimes this is worth it, sometimes not. My Wynn experience was wonderful in all the ways the the Rio lacked and the games were still good (lol live poker).

I got to meet up with Krantz, DD, and some other DC members for the Hoopament while I was out there. It went surprisingly well in terms of me not completely embarrassing myself with my basketball skills and that was all I could really ask for.

Hung out with DJ for a bit and we hit up Naked Fish for sushi one night. It ended up being one of the better sushi places that I have gotten to experience and we tried some delish rolls. I should have snapped some pics of them because they were pretty awesome looking. Won our 2-man CC roulette, pounded the rest of our sake and back to business! I think that the food is one of the parts that I love about Vegas the most. Even if it’s simple, you can get some great stuff:

I headed back and wrapped up my final session, which included me running the table over and getting the gamble running strong amongst the other players at my table. There was another decent guy that seemed like he read some strategy forums of some sort (my guess is 2+2 based on how poorly he understood some of the concepts that he was talking about) but I really crushed him in a few spots to where it got a bit under his skin and I’m sure some of the other players’ too. Finally things got down to 4 handed and everyone was in the gamble-y mood so we all stuck in $50 and flipped blind for it, flipping up 1 card on the flop and 1 on the turn so that we knew what we needed. I hit my winning pair on the river with 93o, but it took me a sec to realize that it flushed one of the other players. This is when the actually coin flipping started! I made my $50 back and the winner of the 4 way won a few flips and packed up. Our table was soon filled with short stackers and nits so I hit the cage and cashed out, drove DJ to his place, dropped off the car, and caught my flight back home and a few short hours later headed to Bonnaroo!

The part that I was disappointed that I missed was the Drunken cash game/ meet up that went down this past Sat. It seems like there were a good number of people out there and drunken small stakes poker is always a blast! Oh well, hopefully here can be a round 2 of some sort when I make it back out there (shooting for 4th of July weekend, but not sure yet).
