Final Push....

Took tonight off as I’ve needed a little break and now the big push begins.

15 hours left if I want to hit the 10k FPP bonus

21 hours to hit 3850 VPP if necessary….

Wish me luck

Can I clarify you're playing 2/4 with what like a 2000 dollar roll?

You had 1500 on June 20th?

Boomer posted on June 27, 2009 at 08:19 AM

For my first 2/4 session I had a roll of 1550 (~380BB) now I'm at about 1825 (~405BB)

As I explained in a blog post earlier, my first one I think, if you are willing to move up and down limits and poker is not your primary source of income (i.e. Monnthly Nut = 0) then traditional 5-600BB bankroll management at micro and low-small stakes is more than likely going to be prohibitive just due to the fact you're paying an absoultely exhorbitant amount of rake.

So I've used a "Move up at 375BB for next level and move down when you have 200BB at current level" strategy. Given the rake on Stars at 2/4 is the lowest rake anywhere before 5/T I may change that but there's nothing stopping me taking a look at the 3/6 games if I have say a $2400 roll.

Tbh what I'll probbaly do with a $2500 roll is just play whichever game looks the best between 1/2 and 3/6. Shockingly at the moment that would most often be a 2/4 game and that's suprised me a bit

That seems like lunacy to me, I have almost 1K more than you and play 50NL!

You only need like 2 coolers and almost half your roll is gone. Trust me this is a very unsustainable and high risk strategy. How can you even play right when you know that one slip here or there is a big problem? I mean do you lose like half a stack at 400NL and then immediately move back down?

Plus if you haven't built the roll, I'm surprised you have the skill to be playing 400NL?

Each to their own I guess but I think that you're chances of going buston are very, very high.

I'm playing LIMIT Holdem not NL, 4 buyins would be lunacy yes but fortunately I'm not THAT stupid :)

lol sorry, seemed pretty insane for someone from DC to be doing that! Limit makes sense. Anyways didn't want to come off as an ass, read my post retrospectively and sorry if it came off badly. GL

hehe no problem man you're not the first and you won't be the last :)

waut, you're playing LIMIT?

Limit is like pulling teeth, why do that to yourself?

Because I get to do Skype conversations with BBB which is reason enough...

And personally I found playing small/micro NLHE outrageously dull although PLO does intrigue me a bit it's not a game I have the time to put in the learning to make up the deficet compared to my LHE game.

But this is an age old arguement that neither side will cave in to so each to their own imo.
