New and shiny! I've been waiting for this one ![]()
Welcome back to Passing the Torch. This week PygmyHero and AdriennesRevenge sit down and discuss specific hands out of her HEM database and methods for reviewing sessions. They also bring in a new coach, Entity.
A year ago, Entity took PygmyHero under his wing in the series "Real Life: Microlimit Grinder," and coached him from struggling at $.5/$1 to winning at 10x the stakes. Now it's Pygmy's turn to give back, as he takes a struggling microlimit LHE student, AdriennesRevenge, and attempts to duplicate the success he's had in the past year.

dent1st, you can download the latest episode from this page.
And I don't mind you posting here at all, but in the future I think this forum would be the most appropriate place.

Thread count ftw.
Now a new episode and I haven't even had the time to watch #5... Arr I gotto cut down on the RL projects ![]()
Stars Rake
timeline 0.29.00
$.50/$1.00 2-10 $0.05 for each $1.00 in Pot capped at$0.50
What happened to the mp4 file? Audio is cut off at around 1:24:15.
Hi guys, forwarded this off to our video editor - I'll leave the current version up for now as I'm sure listening to an 85 minutes of Rob and Pygmy berating a girl (this is how I imagine this series) is worthwhile! ![]()

I see an NC thread title in there somewhere ^.^
Rob is gentle with the ladies... see EP4 for burning me at the stake etc ^.^ (jk Nfinity ^.^)
MP4 is fixed, should work for y'all now all the way through.

Thanks -- it's not as huge of an impact as it would have been if it were $1, but it's still substantial enough that you should always be considering the rake when making razor thin decisions as it's enough to shift one way or another (only .5% in this case, but still worth considering).

In my defense, most of the ladies in my life have preferred it a little rough...

Hi, I was wondering about the 33 hand (that begins around 37:00).
On the river (at 42:20) comes a T BUT if a K had come off what you would recommend doing?
1.call,
2.raise and call or
3.cap
I can see reasons for all 3 even though the just calling option sounds so weak that it shouldn't even be worth mentioning since we obviously have a full but our opponents capping range on the turn, I would often expect, includes significantly more sets and 2 pairs then draws and pair + draws?.
Perhaps this is results orientated thinking bought on from making a raise on these rivers and then having to call the 3-bet vs a very passive player who does happen to have me beat and thinking I might have put in 2 more bets bad then I had to. I just can't fold in a gigantic pot vs anyone with a full for 1 more nor do I think I should be but vs a guy who's very passive is calling ever considered?
(Not that this guy in the vid was passive but I mean I only learnt that from seeing his K7s on the end so surely he could have been, assuming we have no read - I don't remember if anyone said they had a read)
But basically if a K comes on the river what's your default line vs an unknown?
I would have thought raise and call, but then I just got the impression after hearing everyone it was cap.
Sorry 1 last thing.
At about 75.05 Entity asks if there is a feature in Holdem Manager that allows you to make notes in Holdem manager and export them to your site.
I'd be very interested in hearing about this too so if anyone has any info about this could you please post.
Thanks

Well, I mean you're basically right Chris. Sometimes Nfinity comes on and berates a girl, but fundamentally I think you've got the gist.
I also feel that a series named 'Rob and Pygmy berating a girl' needs to be made.
aaahshoveit,
Good question on the 33 hand. Since we have bottom full house we shouldn't really beat many hands when our opponent starts giving us a ton of action if we think they're reasonable. I think ideally in that case 1 or 2 bets should go in. Of course as they're spewier/worse (and as the K turns more blue so we beat more hands) I would favor putting in a bit more action. Clearly against this guy a cap would be in order next time.
As for notes in HEM...
Options-->Notes-->Export Notes
Since this isn't how I keep my notes I don't know what to do after that, but I'm sure a quick search on the HEM forums or FAQ will resolve it.
I also feel that a series should be made "Rob and Pygmy berating a Girl"
with special guest appearance by Konkey ^.^
Hi PygmyHero
thanks a lot for the responses.
I'll push the HEM notes question further at the HEM site and post back if I get anything worth knowing.
It's not something I've done yet but I think being able to make notes when away from the table will drastically refine my 'fish'/'Mad'/'FREE MONEY!!' junk notes I tend to put on people when mildly tilting and having to quickly try and sum up what I thought of someone's play.
Yeah, I think taking notes away from the table is really a lot more important if you're consistently playing against the same players - that is, when you and they are both regs.
About 30 min.
Just wanted to say that Robs "move your hand from the mouse" advice is gold.
And it fits perfectly with Tommy's "what will you do if raised" advice (as that the only thing we need to think about on this street).
Great vid so far, but rest will have to wait ![]()

I tried the export notes and found it doesn't export them to poker stars. It saves them in a different format. There's probably someone who's written a conversion program. If you find out anything I'd be keen to know too. I've found that the notepad on the hud isn't updated each time you import from stars (also you can't cut n paste to it) so if you've added more notes on a player they only show up if you go onto the 'players' tab on HEM.

after playing around with it I found that if you open up a player in the players tab that there's an 'update note' button on the notes page. this updates the notes in the notepad on your hud
