Yeah, hope this can be salvaged somehow. Was really looking forward to it. Hire an intern and pay them $6 an hour to watch each video before it's released and make sure it's not screwed up.

The good news is the Baluga podcast is up and you can actually understand him there.

Except for a few spots where the audio gets distorted the video is fine. In my opinion you guys are way too sensible. Just enjoy the content, which is what you should be after (and yes you can understand ALL of it if you pay attention).

I bought Sennheiser PC136 USB yesterday but it takes a few days to arrive...

I basically bought it because if it's good enough for Hielko, it's good enough for me.

i will also use the telephone if necessary, as in the bart hanson podcast (would that be ok as an alternative for you guys?) Obviously once I have good internet again I will go back to using skype.

Btw that hand where i had K8s where i decided to fold to utg limper that was short, was because it was really odd that he limped utg, i played with him before and i never saw him openlimping.
I also find it weird that i didn't 3bet JJ, normally standard for me to 3bet, and then i see myself 3betting a tight utg with 97 on BTN, im such a weirdo

The bad news is that we can't fix this audio -- the problems with Skype that Baluga must have been having cause audio to skip aren't something we can patch. We're going to leave the video up for now even though we know the quality will get slammed because there's some valuable content in it for sure. That said, we'll make sure that you guys get an extra vid to make up for it.

Yeah I gave it another shot and it's definitely worth watching. There are really only a few parts that are totally unlistenable. Very good discussion about preflop equity and domination.

I wasn't aware we are rating based on that - I agree DC should step up the vetting of these vids but it feels bad to have ur vid get a shit rating because of some technical thing with skype u have no control over now (I know cause this happened with my movin on up w/ Nolan video)

audio realy isn't as bad as ppl are making it out to be. the vast majority of baluga's audio is fine, and vid is definitely worth watching imo.

sound was awful but I got loads out of this anyway. <3 these vids, some of the best content on DC.

Mostly the audio cuts between words imo (probably thanks to Skype's codec), so it's not as bad as it 'sounds' like, if you pay a bit attention. Still of course rather bad.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we rate the whole quality of the product? Sure, quaility of the content is the most important part, but video/audio quality should be considered as well IMO. Nobody said anything bad about BWs content, wich really was awesome.

Whatever, BW says we get something additional as a compensation and I think everybody is totally fine with that.

Another awesome video, really enjoyed the content.

I plugged in some headphones rather than using the computer speakers to get much better sound quality.

why not fix the audio by splicing in new audio in the bad spots?

It's not that bad, couple of spots where the audio is poor, mainly between the 17min-30min marks. The rest of it is okay, no way is it 'unlistenable' imo.

Actually I should have said it was really terrible, maybe Baluga would get more guilty so he does more episodes!

I'm still dl'ing, but given the potential problems with Skype, couldn't you have audio being recorded separately / independently to Skype on each presenter's desktop? Presenters can still communicate via Skype or whatever, but the audio would be captured using higher quality mics and software, and mixed with video in post. Audio quality would end up much better irrespective of internet connectivity, you can also adjust the levels independently, mute background noises if necessary etc (barking, farting and burping). Its a little more work to capture and to process, but should result in a more polished product.
