Finally Episode Eight is out now as the Duck Soup videos are one of my favourites...though it would be really interesting to see the outcome of hands being discussed, even though they might not be that important to talk about. E.g. I really would like have seen the river decision of Alexfun when Hero was holding the pocket Aces...any chance to add this information (e.g. adding comments, attach complete hand histories for all hands in the video)?

Thanks,

With AK hand hero checks the turn after betting the flop when he pairs his ace. You say you like that allot because allot of villains will fold there medium pairs when you bet again on the turn. Now, if you ever have air here (I dont know if you could against this specific tight villain, but it will happen) you would bet the A turn because of that specific fact. If you keep checking your made hands and betting your air you become pretty exploitable and any decent villain will probebly note the showdown where you checked back your A.

Isnt it true you have to be betting XX% on the turn with your made Ax hands only for balancing?

I would never worry about balance. When we check here we are actually balancing our check-calling range. But checking here with strong made hands is like checking on a KQ5r flop, we are never check-folding, it only works against super aggro players and players who thinks that checking means that we are check-folding.

So we can check this turn if we think villain is tight weak postflop. But against solid players this turn is likely to be our best chance of getting value (it is a known scare card) unless villain is on a pure float or for some reason decides to bet for protection with hands that have showdown value.

Yeah I think this is a really good point. If you always check your good hands here, betting is not representing a whole lot. That being said, this is against a specific type of opponent who we thought based on history would probably fold a medium pair to a bet. Many wouldn't for exactly this reason (thinking we polarize mostly towards air when we bet)... so it's all about knowing who you're playing against. But in general, yes, you should be betting this some of the time.

I don't like the raise here, there is also big chance that a villain holds cards 66-TT that we are way ahead of and might fold to a raise but with calling we let him "semi" bluff us. I also wouldn't be the happiest person if a villain comes over the top of our raise. I would prefer a call line here and a bet on a river if checked to... This is probably a line, where we loose least when we are behind and win quite some, when we are ahead.

AcQc hand - i like a fold in this case, but have you considered a check call line on turn here? If he holds Ax here or even KQ he is probably betting if checked to and you can reevaluate on river. The pot would be smaler (180) with 228 behind and most of players won't shove with only 2 pair like A6, KQ or sth..

I'm not sure about the check back here. isn't it more likely that he calls a bet with 88-QQ then actually bet when you check?

You think he calls 88 here? I believe he bets a lot wider range here than he is calling with. And if you check call turn he might try to get you off of your TT JJ QQ hand on a river.

Am I way off here?

Very good final episode. You will be sorely missed next season, you can convey your thoughts in a very straightforward way that is easy to understand, and I've directly made a lot of money due to watching your vids Smile
