I think you got hypnotized by the scariness of the opponent's board.There are 6BB in the pot, you're risking 2 (actually less, as he has only 17 bucks left) to win 3. Against something like LL, 99-KK in the hole, with the given dead cards, you have around 45% high equity, which is more than enough. One more point, his passiveness on 4th leaves nearly no chance of him having oesd, fd, gutters, and, against this reduced range, you are winning high about half the time, so there's no other play here but to put the guy all-in .

Yes, I'm going to agree with you there. However the example stands as a spot where you should look out to fold 6th, since for most players folding 6th is unorthodox.
