How do you mediate quitting vs. just booking the win? Should you try and avoid thinking about quitting early?
DeathDonkey and BigBadBabar wrap up their series with a HH review much like last episode, and a recap of BBB's progress throughout the full series.
DeathDonkey works with BigBadBabar in his return to the video felt, helping him move up to where they respect his raises.

Not sure I really understand your question, yes you should quit a game if you are just concerned about booking a win, even if its a bad reason, you should still quit. When I am in a good game I rarely think about booking a win, I just think about what's going on at the table, but if I have been losing recently or something its possible I sometimes think "wow I'm up X, would be nice to quit the day up this much" and then I quit and chide myself a bit for being a pussy.
That pretty much answered it thanks.

yeah i remember hearing the quitting thing from joe tall too. it was in the video series with sushi glutton where he was coached by everyone. That is really good advice about quitting. The last few minutes where DD rambles about perspective and decsion making is just gold. The money and swings are irrelevant its all about decision making.

this hand reminds of a hand i misplayed yesterday and a c/r i believe would have worked better, the guy against me hit runner runner str8 when i flopped 2 pr with Q9o in BB.
BBB, as you're starting out your session in the 3 handed game, you fold Q
2
in the BB to the bad player opening in the SB. You're going to be in position and Q2s seems a lot better to me than any two suited. I don't think the hand is particularly close, and I'd play it without thinking. A few hands later as the game goes 4 handed, a nominally good player joins and you open Q6o in your SB vs. him. You snap open Q6o oop against him, and it goes without comment. These PF plays seem inconsistent. Is there something I'm missing?
Oh, forgot to mention... great series guys. You have great rapport and I loved every episode. Looking forward to more in the future.

While their value range isn't that wide, it also contains fewer hands that beat us so I'd be much more inclined to raise against someone who threebets his BB. Against someone who doesn't 3bet, I'd have to be concerned about AT+ in addition to all the marginal value hands and draws in his range.
Obviously I don't want to raise when he has AT+ so when he 3bets those preflop, my decision becomes a much clearer raise with my marginal value range. Add the fact that we'll want to bluff raise more often against his much weaker range and raising for thin value becomes even more clear.

Just to add a bit to this - not looking at results for weeks at a time really helps me in this regard. Obviously if you're just crushing a table or getting destroyed at it (or even in a whole session) you're going to have an idea of how you're doing. But if you run well on one site and poorly on another in the same day, or just in general after several days of normal LHE swings, you'll probably have no real idea of how you're doing. This helps me not worry about booking wins or quitting any one table or staying at any one table longer than I want to.

You're not missing anything - I made a bad fold. I'm still tinkering with my ranges in the blinds and it will probably take me a little bit of time before I am comfortable and consistent with those spots as I open up a bit more.

+1
this is the first series I've looked forward to week after week in a little a while.
It was a good series.
I think within this last episode is a really section that you should use in every series from now on DeathDonkey....that is within hand replayer style videos - pointing out micro-reads and exploring/making it explicit what you think that tells you and how they might change with more information.
That kind of analysis - I felt like it more truly represents the actual thought process of strong poker players - instead of each hand being treated in its own bubble.
I hope that makes sense.
Good Luck BBB on the otherside of the river.
Finally got to watch Episode 8. Thank you DD and BBB for a great series. BBB, great job at putting out probing question after probing question and pick DD's brain with max efficacy.

This makes sense; thanks. Are you ever raise/folding the turn against a certain opponent type?
Just wanted to say thanks to DD for having me in the series and thanks to all of you guys for watching and commenting in all the threads. My plan is that I'm going to continue to try and get hands in at 8/16 and 10/20 for the next few months (supplementing with 5/10 as needed), playing fewer tables than I used to, and see how things go! Regardless of results, I definitely feel more confident in my game now than I did at the beginning of the series, and I think lots of the things we talked about, and tweaks we made (big or small) are going to be very useful.
