No problems with the audio here? Edit: Hm, it does get a little bit jerky around 18 minutes or so...

And damn, one day im going to say that the money at 2/4 is not significant for me also and that I just play to learn!

What is up with the production quality lately? If it's a camtasia issue then just keep the video and audio separate and merge them at a later time or something.

Still a very happy customer but it's sad to see the presentation of the product get worse and worse. It kinda ruins Vannessa's excellent effort in this series imo.

Unfortunately these are problems with the audio quality coming from Skype, not from anything in production or post-production. Depending on the connection of the EP recording, sometimes Skype will skip out or digitize in a weird way, which is impossible for us to fix. It's frustrating at times for sure but the only way we can record coaching videos like this -- usually it turns out fine but occasionally it ends up with artifacts and issues like this that we can't do anything about.

I've tried about a half dozen, but never tried MediaRing. Don't know of any way to record conversations in Google Talk but I'll look into it as well. I think the problem is more with the host connection and uplink speed than with Skype itself, but I'll keep looking for a better solution for VOIP recording.

Kinda bummed at how the audio came out. We obviously weren't talking over each other while making the vid but on here it seems like we were. I think at one point on the vid you can hear Vanessa answer a question before you hear me ask it!

FWIW I do know on my end the bandwidth both up and down is really fast.

Can't both parties record the audio seperately and then synchronize the files later? Been wondering that for a long time. Of course the risk of ruin increases a fair bit but it would help out the quality immensely.

try ventrilo. You can have group chats through it and record. You can get high quality servers too at a cheap rate.

also it seems to me that the problem might be in post processing. I don't know the specifics but when you render a long video the sound might start to skip ahead after a while. (like in every coaching tree / ducksoup video I've watched lately )

Lots of excellent discussion. The audio isn't too bad, you can hear Vanessa quite clearly. A lot of stinkpaw's audio is out of sync, but it's not that important to hear the reasoning behind his misplayed hands. The video is definitely watchable and worth watching.

I have redone the audio to the best of my ability. The speed on it is definitely better. We'll work to find better forms to increase our quality.

Yeah this has to be the safest alternative. You have a skype convo as usual but both parties make a recording of the audio in another program. I'm sure there are some nice freeware programs out there for this. Then you can adjust levels and maybe add a little compressor as well. It would do wonders.

Many people have suggested ventrilio but I've yet to find a client for it that doesn't require a fairly tech-savvy user to use (I have troubles with most of the clients I've used, and I'm more tech-savvy than most). The default UX is something that requires too much investment for people to understand and use easily. Beyond that, I've had difficulty finding ways to convert the VRF files into a format that can be easily synced with the Camtasia recordings.

The short answer is that the solution we have right now (Skype+Pamela) works great in the majority of situations and is easy for our EPs and coaches to use, but unfortunately bugs out occasionally. Ventrilio has better sound quality but is something that is difficult to use compared to Skype/other programs.

I'll try this out, I've had major issues getting it to work and not be a huge pain in the ass. I've found that most people with a gamer background are really good with it, but not so much outside that.

It's built-in to Ventrilo - on the Record/Playback screen, open up the VTF and click "Export".

If there is a particular spot/hand that you are interested in but cant take the audio let me know and I will post what the discussion was based on my notes etc...

We've used GoToMeeting successfully at my company for recording audio and video of on-line presentations etc... You can record audio from a built in VOIP or from a 'free' conference line (you have to pay toll charges.)

GoToMeeting isn't free but its cheap and easy and probably well worth the $$ to get a few accounts for DC. Just a thought...

I'm confused. If he plays perfectly and always folds when he's behind and calls when he's ahead, we never make money ... right? Plus we're risking 259 to win 164 with basically just two outs to save us if we're behind seems a little reckless unless we have a specific read that we're behind and he'll fold. Even then, I would think we can probably risk a lot less to accomplish the same thing.

Not sure if this was fixed btu this video was very watchable to me.
