Great stuff!
I think you mentioned this once but an idea for a future series would be one where you show how to exploit the 24 tabling SNE types at say 200nl or 400nl.
Mixing in some PLO episodes is fine too. (or 2 seperate series even better :-) )

Good stuff.
RE Tilt:
Why it happens? I definitely observe that a lot of people really believe that they're playing as well as they can, or at least certainly outplaying the opposition in their games... but because they don't have a good enough understanding of variance, they feel like all their good work is rendered moot by bad suckouts, or the villain turning up with some random hand they shouldn't have that's better (like a dumb 2 pair that makes no sense in handreading)
The analogy to your accountant, Ansky, would be if the accountant's assistant, who mails off the finished accounts... keeps mailing them to Disneyland instead of the IRS...

Very motivating to keep doing my homework.....and not give up.
Question:
Do you believe in the idea that "poker is poker"? ..... How transferable is the knowledge/thinking between stakes?

Awesome rant. So much ambition, aspiration and passion for poker in every word you say. Very motivating!
As for a video idea, you can do something similar to the ever loved video in which you coached gugel.
It would be great to hear you talk about poker very frankly.

Ansky is one of my poker heros.
I really enjoyed this video, thanks alot.
Ideas for next series: I would like to see a HU series.
By this I meant a contemporary HU series with some live play. I liked Ansky vs. Durrrr but I would like to see 2010 Ansky play Hu vs a variety of opponents.

Great vid!! Can you give us some examples of how to study differnt problems away from the tables i.e. what kind of resources to use to compare ranges I have Pstove but that only compares hot/cold equities? this is something I really want to do to figure out my opponents strategies and really don't know how to go about it. Thanks alot man and kill it at the tables!

Well done! I think you did a good job of embodying the idea behind the series and adding a solid pep-talk to it.
I would be interested in the future to hear more about some specific tools you found useful and the best ways you found to use them.

I think the reason poker players struggle with tilt is because there are few things in life where you get negative results from doing something correctly. One thing I find that is comparable is hitting in baseball, especially since getting a hit 3 out of 10 is really good. You can go through a couple weeks of hitting .500 and think u have the game figured out and all of sudden, you start hitting line drives right at people. Before you know it, you are 0 for your last 20, can't figure out what you are doing wrong, and make unnecessary changes to your swing. In my experience, the same thing happens in poker. You crush for awhile by playing well and running good, but then inevitably you run bad for awhile. When this happens, you lose confidence in your game and start making mistakes. It makes it difficult to keep your confidence when you don't have the reinforcement of being successful. When you invest a lot of time and emotion into to be a good poker player, failure becomes tough to deal with. Same with baseball. Everyone deals with it, but the very best have short memories and the blind confidence that separates them from the herd. Theoretically, it would be nice to never tilt but I don't think it's quite possible. But all skills being equal, the player the who manages tilt the best will go a lot further in this game than everyone else, imo. So I think the ultimate goal should be to have an awareness of our emotions and constantly improve on being able to control them.

Dani, Thanks for doing this I got a lot out of it.
Highlight for me was
"Really? your still tilting"
So much tilt advice out there somewhat condones tilt. they say things like "everyone tilts to some extent","its ok to tilt" etc. I think what you said was spot on.
IMO it would be awesome to see some videos from you showing your approach to small stakes PLO games.

Really loved this episode Dani. Great stuff, especially the part about needing that fire we all started with when learning new games.
As for your next series, maybe some MTT stuff or PLO, most likely with a student as I think your bluntness translates well to high quality educational material
Being able to berate someone in a nice way seems to fire you up and bring out the best in your teaching abilities. My vote would be for MTT since I don't play PLO, but I know many do so that's an option as well.

Love this format and Dani's input here is exceedingly enjoyable.
I almost never ever actually laugh out loud but your image of the accountant on tilt (and the child playing a board game) are absolutely classic.

Great stuff!
One question, though. How do you manage to be "obsessed with poker", as you say, but at the same time healthily step away from the table? Where lies the line between healthy obsession and addiction? Do you know your line? Did it move at some point?

nice episode.
But I don't really get your view on tilt. Tilt is described as not playing your a-game. And isn't that the same as being perfect? And I think you said something about perfect being an illusion yourself.
For me tilt is not breaking the mouse or yelling - that's obv. a result of the tilt. But as long as i'm not playing my a-game because of some factors, I consider it as tilt.
So how do you progress to becoming tiltless? You kinda told it like it was a choice of growing up?
As a sidenote, my "tilt-triggers" isn't anything results oriented.

Really great. I'm sure that was the best 36 minutes I've spent on this site (which is hard to say because I've learned so much). You really picked up on the things that are important, not just in poker but in your life. Confidence, agrressiveness, pursuing perfection, incentive to learn, using what's available, etc. The first line about tilt was awesome. It's nice to have it all condensed. I've always enjoyed hearing/watching you. You have a confident way of conveying your point that makes it very believable. The whole series idea was great. I look forward to seeing the rest. Sidenote, I'm sure you've answered this and don't want to offend you, but, why is your name pronounce "Donny"?
Thank you sir.

I just wanted to say that I've watched probably 30 videos in the last 2 weeks since I've joined the site and this was the absolute best video I've watched so far. I mean, wow, was this ever direct, and well articulated.
Thanks Dani, my respect for you has just gone through the roof.
