Real Life: Micro SNG Grinder: Episode Three by vandweller

In this episode, vandweller checks in on veloblank and gets some pretty crappy news. He offers velo some advice on how to use Hold'em Manager to monitor his game, and shows him that he needs to be making late-game, high-blind shoves far more aggressively.

Really bummed that we will miss out on FTP multi tabling tips.

Please cover this in some way in this series even if it involves other site or recommendations for people who can play on FTP.

It may or may not be within this series, but I will definitely cover this somehow.

Seriously, i've been playing poker for 4 years online and most of the large to medium networks over this time. Finally i excepted stars was the best, even giving up the supposedly "soft" euro networks, the rakeback, the bonuses. It's worth it. I'm the biggest stars fan boy <3

I like both the reputations of Stars and FullTilt, with the online and live pros in poker. Nothing like feeling safe about the play going on around you and the ability to find a game at all times. Poker Stars it is...

Keith how did you get those stats from the HEM? I clicked on tourney but I have a different layout. Where you show "Results" I show "Reports". I also show "Sessions" & you don't' show that. You also have "Table Scanner" & I don't. I'm trying to figure out how to figure out graphs & my ROI since I play at Bodog I can't check Sharkscope to see my ROI. If anyone else can help please post how to.

Ok did the new upgrade download but I still don't get the filters. On the left hand at about 20:00 into your vid you have "Tourneys : 90" I still show 0 which is obviously incorrect.

You might have to do a fresh import of all your games to a new database. I'm 90% sure that's the issue.

I noticed in the video that sngwiz had a function that should if you made a bad ICM descious can't remember what time it was at put vandweller puled it up for a sec i'm just wondering how this works i don't have sngwiz , does it use generic ranges if so what are they based on or are they ranges velo or van put in?

P.S really enjoying the serious best ep so far i was really surprised on a couple of the hands that where pushes with pretty weak hands i thought. Would like to have seen you break these choices in an ICM program becuase i still struggle with ranges hopfully you can touch on that soon.

great vid. I have a question though. At 29:00 Vandweller mentions, that he had made a video specifically on when to shove, when you're far from the button.

Now after looking through Vans vids i can't find it, well... maybe i'm just blind. Which video is it? Or has it not come out anyway?

Since a healthy portion of this video was on stealing blinds, I was wondering whether basic SNG strategy applied to turbos? Is it just accelerated? Do I gain an edge from playing with a bunch of impatient folk?... I'm just starting to take my game seriously and was thinking I should avoid them altogether for now.

Basic SNG strategy applies turbos as well, as you said it's just accelerated. There's less hands per level, but the worth of stealing chips at a level is the same in turbo and regular. Mostly regular SNGs have worse players in them, grinders tend to attack the turbo speed ones in search of higher hourly rate.

Can you do exactly the same in HM2? There is no 'hands' tab as default and I can't find one in reports main tab or under 'more reports'.
