The audio was slightly (maybe 2-3s?) ahead (at least in the mp4 video), which was a bit annoying.
Thanks for the episode, it was really interesting! Much better to have dialogue between the coach and the coached like this instead of the coach just preaching, like it many times is.

the episode was okay, although as said not too many interesting spots came along.
the audio is also ahead a couple of seconds in the wmv file, but i think its on purpose to make it seem like these guys make up their mind really fast

7 min - you have 55 in the BB. When the villain checks back the turn it looks like he prob has some marginal hand with SD value. so when you bet the river you are trying to get him off of it right?
23 min - 33 on the button. do you value bet that turn against a loose passive fish, or take the same line?
34 min - AK EP with one caller in BB. On the river, Do you think raising might be better then calling? He seems like the type that can turn marginal hands into bluffs?

There is a new mp4 up. I am still working on the wmv but due to large file size it will prolly not be ready till late tonight, or early tomorrow. I apologize for the inconvenience. Hope you all enjoy the mp4.

It's a valuebet, we have a straight yo!

Against most I would just vbet, just so you set up a big river bet when you improve to a full house and most fish just call with a straight anyway so you don't have to worry about a turn raise that much.

I think calling is better than raising. His range is super polarized between nuts and air hands, and with raising you risk so much more money. He also doesn't raelly have a need to bluff here with a pair hand, simply because he can expect to check it down here a lot and win the pot. In hindsight I wish I made the call, mainly because of his timing.

Hielko, iv followed this series and think your personality has really made it good to watch, thanks. Anyway i was wondering if you play all your hands on stars? If so why do you not play on the supposedly softer euro sites? Anyway good luck to you in the future.

Ineteresting Vid- you guys missed all the trash talk Lurped was spitting out...
2 questions:
1. When shorty r's ur sb & u push KQ. Whitelime said he'd just call w AQ- why? Are you expecting to turn more profit by ch-ring an A or Q flop rather than take down his raise money right now? This assumes your going to check fold most flops where you dont hit a pair...
2. Vs all these 'fishy'/loose players do you still think its profitable to open hands like 86s and T7s from the cut off? It seems to me like immediate-odds hands like high cards are better to simply value bet players who keep calling (calling stations) rather than implied-odds hands that need to hit hard. Are you expecting to take the down the blinds enough to make this play profitable? I guess I'm a nit, hehe.
These are pretty general but they go beyond specific hand analysis so I'd appreciate your input.
Thanks

. And I think that the euro sites being softer is mostly a myth created by the usa players, as a Dutch saying says: the grass is always greener at the other side of the fence.

Whitelime was talking about what the best result for us would be. When we push KQ we want the SB to fold, we we push AQ we want him to call.

In most cases; yes. You want to play as many hands possible with the fish (especially when you have position), and these kinds of hands will flop hands like 2nd pair (usually good enough to get some value, or snap of a bluff) or draws with good equity that give you the opportunity to fire some +ev barrels. And yes, high card hands would be better but that doesn't mean you can't play these hands.

Heilko, if you make more of these live sessions, can you save some interesting hand historys in holdem manager that you can show you next coach so you have something to talk about if nothing interesting comes up? I do not think this session did Whitelime justice.

since there so little action i think in the future videos you should concentrate on reading the stats accurately before making assumption. There was a lot of bad plays vs needfood. yes he was like 40vpip or something. but his steal was 69%. needfood is known to be one of the biggest 10/10 nits on stars(i dont even play there and i know that) a 10/10 nit who raises almost all btn and a ton of cos then gives up does seem loose.
3betting him with KQo is definately giving money away

unfortunately not a lot of interesting hands came up, but nice vid nonetheless
about 30 mins in with the TT hand: I'd probably call here as well and expect it to be +EV against a relatively unknown taggy kind of player
about 49 mins in with the AJo hand I really didn't get the fold/4bet discussion, to me it seemed like a pretty clear call if you would expect villain to 3bet you light there
if that's the case, calling > 4bbetting > folding imo
not that I love AJo, I'd rather have KQo and I wouldn't call with ATo which means it's at least somewhat close, but I think it's a decent enough hand to play for a pot postflop ip against a presumably wide enough range
as a side note: "the supposedly softer euro sites" are actually just as soft as the US sites
I can play on any site I'd like, but I ended up playing almost exclusively on Full Tilt as there are just as many fish and the software is endlessly better than any of the euro sites

1stly, thats a british saying, they dont have grass in holland silly. Secondly, nice vid, ur style is more fun to watch than most.

Too bad you had never played against needfood before. The guy is a major spewtard. He insta-does everything btw. When he overbet vs. your AK, I would have called this quite happily.
Yeah, in hindsight (and having played more with this guy) I def agree.

With 55 we have a straight...we are valuebetting!
With 33, I feel like even a loose passive fish has A high so often in this situation and is not going to call a turn bet. If he's never going to bluff the river though, I probably bet the turn.
With the AK, I don't think I would ever raise. I do think there is some chance he could be bluffing with a stronger hand, but not often enough that the additional money we need to risk to raise the river is worth it.

Can you please give me more specifics about the hand in question in #1? I don't know which hand you're talking about...
#2, I definitely think those hands have a decent amount of value from the CO and folding them is absolutely giving up EV. I would guess that a slightly weaker hand like 46s would still turn a profit from the CO given that you are reasonable postflop. It also will add EV to your stronger hands. If there's a loose maniac on the button, I probably fold all three of these hands but 86s and T7s are very close to my cutoff. I'd be playing T8s and J8s for sure.

He seemed like a spewtard but he had half a clue as to what he was doing. I don't think he was fishy enough that he could run an overbet bluff in that hand given the history. It just seemed like a spot he expected to be called.

I think not 3betting him w/ KQo would be a worse play in a vacuum than 3-betting it. Folding would be bad.

Villain seemed like a big nit based on his stats so I think with the assumption that he's only shoving premiums, 4-betting is OK. With 5 more minutes of reads on him, I think calling is clearly the best play because he turned out to be capable of making some moves. Turning AJo into a bluff against someone who is capable of rebluffing you isn't a great play. 4-bet calling probably isn't correct either because he probably wouldn't 5-bet shove THAT light.
