In that 96o hand, do you think there is merit betting like 1/3 the pot to maybe get some value from A high hoping he puts us on clubs but also to conceal our hand against total air?

This is great!
And its funny how DC coaches don't recognize each other on the tables ![]()

Timestamp por favor?
if that guy says 'sure' one more time ima stab myself in the ear...
Really good vid - duck talks about poker better than pretty much anyone else I have listened too and really gets across concepts - this goes for the other vids in the series as well.
I also like the fact that you criticise players and point out where things can be improved; to me, this is one of the best forms of learning - true, well delivered, relevant criticism.
And sanjuanworm - good vid. I really liked a ton of the hands and the realisation that you could have done things differently when Vanessa was talking. The sigh was classic ![]()

Yeah if he's not too tricky, I actually like betting that way (maybe even less), because it also might occasionally induce a check/raise spaz out and it's a situation in which we're almost always good. Also, hiding 69o is definitely a good thing to do if we want to keep 3betting light from the button. If we aren't 3betting very many hands at all, I'd probably opt to just show it down.

lol, that's amazing. p.s. i'm much more likely to nab an elf's SAT than save anyone's LSAT!
We CC KJs IP vs good reg and flop comes Q72ss.
Should we raise this flop with intention of folding after 3bet?
If I raise here with hand which has a lot of equity I also dont wanna fold after 3bet. And with K high fush we cant push after 3bet (with A high we probably can giving we beat K high FD and to balance with our bluffs).
The reason that he will often barrel us on the turn giving our weak looking range is alone probably not enough to resolve this problem by raising the flop.
just like to say these hand history vids you do vanessa are spot on.
im not knocking the (in game) vids by other coaches, but to me what im after in a vid is in depth discussions of a few tricky spots that you find yourself in at the tables, this seems to help me more than watching the actual game vids as more time is spent on understanding exactly what is happening. or am i just a slow learner lol.
keep up the good work.
goose.
vanessa's vids are always pretty funny. you do sound relatively patronising a lot of the time vanessa (im sure you dont realise it) but your input is normally really interesting ![]()
I do think though that you do think on too high a level some of the time though, some of your thoughts on the Q72 hand were i think, kinda wacky. Good video though and definitely made me think which is a big positive. More please.
hand 2 w/ the 8 6 5 board, where huck donks and checkraises a turn 5 w/ KQ.
You don't think it looks very strong...so do you recommend taking lines like this often w/ nut hands?
i feel like w/ a nitty image, this does look pretty strong, and there's a decent chance a solid opponent may fold an overpair 150 bb's deep. Thoughts?

So, are we saying that betting the flop and trying to get heads up and more value from the small blind is the best line? As played with the check, would calling have been better than raising? This hand is interesting because he was able to get two decent bets on the flop and I'm having trouble visualizing a long term situation where you could get more from worse hands - possibly so heads up. I'd have to think this is a hand that can't stand to get to showdown multi-way very often.
