This is a really solid episode. I'm really surprised there aren't more comments. My is guess is that you explained it just that well ![]()
You completely opened my eyes to a world of check shoving
. This is something I don't do at all I've just had a look through my database and found quite a lot of hands where I could have used this concept. Much like your student I've been content to just c/r pretty much exactly as in the 98s hand so this has been a great practical help for me.
SB vs BB shoves and Short btn co shoves: If you've been shoving consistently in these spots and your image is starting to get a bit dodgy how do you go about directly correlating that to assessing opponents calling ranges and our shove ranges? I know this will sound daft but are there any sort of rules of thumb you use say increasing or decreasing ranges by x%. I know a lot of it comes down to pure experience and feel and think I'm getting a lot better at it but any help always welcomed ![]()
Keep up the good work, many thanks.
Also the stuff you talked about at the end in other was super super helpful as someone who's starting to take some shots.

I can't give you anything exact as far as a rull of thumb, figuring this out often just comes with experience and what you think of your situation at that exact time. Just keep playing!
Great series!
? what is the proper adjustment against a short stacked random player, one where we don't have a read yet?

There is even a decent chance he will not just open-shove the top of his range here, which makes it an even more +EV call.
