Is it my laptop, or is the sound quality really that horrible?
Bosoxx34 and Jsnipes28 bring in a guest coach this week. Some guy, I think his name is KRANTZ is going to help the guys review a session played by Jsnipes.
Snipes went out and learned how to win at heads up No Limit. And then he taught bosoxx how to do it. And now they’re teaching you. From 50nl all the way to 600nl. Special guest appearance from KRANTZ.

Krantz guest appearance! Great video so far. IceCreamTruck its not your laptop, it sounds that horrible on mine also. Hopefully DC will fix it soon.
Krantz guest appearance! Great video so far. Krantz, your audio sounds really rough, please fix it DC. Other than that keep up the good work guys, really cool series.
This was a 3-way Skype call (Bosoxx on the local side and JSnipes and Krantz on the other side), unfortunately nothing we can do to patch the messed up audio in that as it's part of the artifacting that Skype does sometimes when people are on slower Internet connections (which I think Jay unfortunately was as he hasn't gotten FIOS setup in his new place yet).

WMV still not working unfortunately ![]()
I can´t download the wmv file.
Thanks very much for the video. Have got a question...probably elementary point but I don't get it at the moment.
There are at least two hands where you check behind on the flop with marginal draws. I am not quite sure of the reasoning behind this.
18.40. 7c2c. flop KcJc8 FD. hero checks behind. Are we worried about being check-raised here and losing our equity, given that the board is pretty drawy?
Also: T6o. raise. flop K87r. hero checks behind. We have such a weak draw here and no showdown value. Why don't we just bet it? Are we going for a delayed continuation bet?

You were saying that 'u just want to wait for a hand vs these types of opps' because obv they're crazy. But really what you mean is u want to widen ur value range vs these guys right?
I was playing a psycho the other day & was up 4 bi's on him so he started RRing literally EVERY time I opened on the btn. So I took a hand like KTs and 4bt him for value. This was even better becuase he wasn't shipping anything but monsters (so I didnt have to 4bt-F often). This is viable right? I didnt mind playing a 4bt pot with hands that crush his range- was there a flaw in my thinking? /do you agree with the widening of ur value range, and taking ur bluffing range to basically zero?
Thanks

Yup, I wish I could add more but your analysis is pretty spot on.

was thinking the same thing while watching the video.. I'm assuming he didn't want to get check raised and just hope to hit with the free card? An explanation would be nice ![]()

I didn't talk with John about these hands, but for the first one, with as aggressive this guy was our hand certainly can't stand a check raise. Also, this guy didn't really give us too much credit so if we hit our flush on the turn we're likely to get 2 streets of value anyways. Also, he's leading the turn a lot of the time after its checked through on the flop so we might not even lose anything from not c-betting.
For the second hand I agree a bet is probably best with such a weak draw and no SD value.
DC Community,
I have uploaded a "cleaner" audio version of the mp4 and wmv. There is still some digitizing in the audio that I cannot get out and it has to do with the original skype call.

Thanks very much for your response Bosoxx.
My thoughts: I guess the problem with the KJ8 board is that while it smacks our range (the big cards) there are also an awful lot of draws that villain could have i.e. it kind of hits his range pretty hard too. Given that he is aggressive he might well CR with gutshot or something, in which case we have to fold. By checking we retain the equity in our hand, and also (as you point out) disguise it.
The K87 board also hits villain's range to some extent. But here our draw is so much weaker that we just have to bet it, and if we get CRed think "well, we weren't going to win that pot anyway" and just fold.
Cheers,
Disko
Why is hero continuing to open 100% of btns in the face of villain's preflop aggression? There is some discussion of what adjustments should be made against his heavy 3betting, Kranz talk about minraising,...but nobody talks about whether we should tighten up a bit. What were the reasons for not doing so? (given that most other HU vids on DC suggets tightening up on the btn as a response to heavy 3betting).
I think we need moar Krantz in HU vids.
I noticed you don't really ever defend with a call against 3-bets. This def part of my strategy and I am wondering if it shouldn't be?
Never mind. I guess you did defend his 3bets a couple times at the the end of the vid. I guess I'd still like your thoughts on the type of situations and ranges with which to call 3bets.
good content, terrible audio quality
