Is 33 really too loose of an open from utg+1? What's the lowest pp you open from here and utg? I'm sure the lineup (especially in the blinds) will effect the ranges to some degree. Thanks for doing this series.

Generally, yes it's too loose in my opinion. As you say lineup could change this, but with me in the BB, it's certainly too loose I'd open 44 usually (but not always) in MP and 55 or 66 UTG. In practice I'll often open the same since weaker players are going to tend to be closer to my right and will tend to be in the bigblind when I'm UTG.

If you get called here in 2 spots, whats your plan on the turn? I mean what cards dont you bet turn on?

That would sort of suck, but I also think that I'd have to bet almost all turn cards just to protect my hand in a bloated pot. I can think of player profiles of the button where I'd prefer to check a lot of turns, but in general ranges are still wide enough that I think value betting is more viable than playing passively.

Vs a tight EP open in a FR game what are your current thoughts on coldcalling your entire playing range in the SB (when folded around to you)? I know you talked about this some on 2p2 some months ago and a flamewar obviously ensued.

I've thought and rethought my position on this and I've decided that it's probably okay in theory (and, really, in theory, I think it's probably better), but in practice, even against good players, it's probably better just to 3-bet everything.

One thing your donk play gained though was inciting a dude to go crazy with air which is always a cool thing to find out about someone.
I agree though that a c/r is better overall as even if the BTN cc's 2 on the flop there's a chance we lose value and give a free card to 2 people if the HJ then gives up (and I'm assuming since you were talking about the BTN being fishy he's likely to have a wider calling range and tighter betting, even when checked to IP, range) so that would be a very possible problem I think.

One thing I'm curious about, are you 3betting the flop if the BTN were to have cold called the HJ's flop raise here? Would your answer change if you already had the info that the HJ was capable of opening light and ISO/Steal raising air multiway vs a donk lead like he did (again assuming the BTN cc's)?
