Good short, has there ever been a video specifically on notetaking up until now?It being such an important part of the game someone should delve further into it,a good shorthand system, examples of useful notes compared to examples of bad notes etc...something like that could be very useful.
Oh and maybe play around with the colour scheme a little,an all white screen can be a little sore on the eyes.Reverse it to white on black maybe.

when i asked jay if i could do this, he said an episode of haj school discusses the topic, but that a refresher would be good. i am sorry i cannot provide more info than that, but i hope this helps.

What if villain check raises the river? How does that change the dynamics of the hand?
good question
one thing i think players struggle with is...what shall i call it...how about, phantom range expansions. that is, your opponent cannot have hands stronger than X in his range due to the action, but then your opponent takes an aggressive line and all of a sudden we give him credit for hands stronger than X.
this is usually a mistake.
don't revise your thinking without a very good reason. it's too easy for someone to execute an ill-planned, ill-advised late bluff after he has decided his hand is no good or whatever.
if my friend got c/r (he would have bet river had the opponent checked) i don't think he would have considered folding for an instant.

Terp,
Great video. It seems that adding this type of analysis to our away from the table work will really help build understanding of different, yet related concepts. It should also help avoid those dreaded points in a hand where we are lost because we did not think the hand through, in the beginning.
Out of curiousness, based on villain's hand, what adjustments would you make to your 4 bet range (co or btn vs sb) against him? Would you widen your 4 bet bluffs? If so, what hands would you use?

thanks!
first, we should make sure he didn't have a reason to flat there that would make it a non-standard play. if we can determine that he didn't, we can more confidently defend another Ax or Qx hand down the line, since domination is less a concern.
second, as far as 4betting, this should encourage us to expand our bluff frequency against him and to possibly 4b/call some AXs hands that would have possibly been 4b/folds or flats to his 3b prior. it tends to mean his 3b/felt range will be more small pair heavy, so i can more profitably 4b/felt some pairs i would have preferred to flat, like 99/TT.

Interesting video.
Is this in-depth note-taking something that you do when reviewing your sessions? For example, do you find a regular you play with and review the hands you have on them in their database and create some notes based on a bunch of hands you've seen from them?
