I think shoving 20bbs in villains spot is the better than opening vs a good reg in the bb. If you can only call off JJ+, he can profitably shove ~40% here (w/sb calling 25%). If he sees you as an aggressive reg he has to assume his opens will get shoved on relentlessly. After all, he has to wake up huge to call it off.
there certainly are dynamics where I would shove a 20bb stack in villains situation; it's something you want to make sure you don't overdo for the sake of easier decisions vs taking an optimal line.
