DJ Sensei reviews a DC member's PLO hand and answers his questions. Here is the hand.
DC shorts are short content bursts brought to you by DC Labs. Roughly 1/4 the length of standard videos, these shorts are designed to review single hands, concepts or ideas. You'll receive the most up to date content available and stay in touch with the latest and greatest here at DC and the poker community at large.  The more you post in the forums the more likely it is your post will be the inspiration for a future DC short!

Loooove the idea of DC shorts. My A.D.D. salutes you!
Could a lot of unknowns also check-raise worse trips here? I think that's something to be aware of when working out our equity, as we're obviously crushing most of those. I think a player with a short stack is much more likely to try and stack off with it on the turn than a deeper stacked opponent. He certainly could have donked a weak pair of Qs on the flop similar to a draw. Our equity improves quite drastically as we add some random Q combos.
Nice. If there had been a vote for a hand to break down in detail, this would have been one of my top five. I hope you do La Girl's deep hand post some day.
Another video series I need to put in my tracker.
I once again prove my l33t ineptitude by never in a million years reading 5carab as scarab.
DC Shorts are the nuts.

Glad to hear it! I also have a hard time watching a full video, but I think these are a great length for a little strategy booster.

I think that thought is a crux of this hand. If he can show up with worse/flippy Qxxx hands, then our equity does increase nicely, and so we should be more likely to bet-call. But how many such hands can he have? I feel like he'd have to have at least a flush draw and probably some straight draws too, if he were to donk out the flop in the first place. Against AQJT with a flush draw, we only have 41% equity, so adding a few combos of that sort of hand doesn't help us that much overall. We only really gain when he's checkraising hands like KQJT without a flushdraw (82.5% equity for us!) and those seem much less likely. So, I probably wouldn't change my gameplan too much unless I had more substantial reads that he was loose/gambly.
I also like the DC shorts idea.
I play mostly .5/1+, but I can't ever remember a partial stacked opponent leading a set or 2 pair for half pot multi-way like this (over 500k+ hands). I would put their range on med. to strong draws and aaxx or kkxx played passively pf (rarely with the fd to go with it). Usually 2 pair hands are pot led or led stronger (like 5 minimum) and sets are almost always pot led or check raised (both pot crd and min-crd!).
I think pf is fine, I think the flop call is meh with the shorty behind, but pretty neutral overall (depending on bluffing strategy), and I would tend to bet between 8 and 10 when checked to on the turn. I think if anything the bet-sizing here may have trigged a cr from more draws (which obv. makes it better if thats true), although I expect to get shown a naked queen here the vast majority of the time.
I am moderately happy to happy getting it in here against standard lower stakes less than full stacked opponents. Don't know results, but like the discussion, and thought the video was good overall.
Hey DJ Sensei
Thanks for the analysis. +1 for liking DC shorts and struggling to watch 1 hr vids in one sitting
I agree with what you said although I may have found it difficult to find a fold in the event of a check raise. Mainly due to this villian being pretty bad and capable of showing up with enough worse hands.
I think what you mentioned about the flop bet sizing is crucial and how it is not a size you would expect a strong made hand to bet. This means his range is more weighted to hands that we want to be betting turn against.
