Funnily enough this is great timing as I just started playing again yesterday. Downloading now to watch at home. Cheers tuba!
*gets ready to cringe with embarrassment at misplayed hands*
I watched this last night and made some notes. Now I'm in a cafe with wifi I'll post em here:
first hand:
At first I couldn't believeIi didn't cbet until I saw the note at the end of the hand. I remember two barreling the guy before and he called both with bottom pair. He also limp called A6 in a similar hand before.
He wasn't going to fold much on the flop, certainly not a pair so I didn't want to bet knowing I'd have to three barrel and even then not be confident I'd have any chance of him folding something crap like a 5 by the river.
Even so, after listening to the analysis I now agree a cbet is probably optimal because chances are he has no pair due to having such a wide range on the flop and even if he calls I have overcards to two of the pairs he can call with.
The reason I fired the turn on what on the face of it is a bad card to bet is that he really isn't thinking of what I have. I thought he'd probably bet any aces and possibly worse pairs, which meant it was less likely for him to have a pair at that point. Obviously I didn't think he'd have the monster he showed up with.
second hand:
I didn't 3bet as his button raise looked like it was def for value vs the loose sb. I don't think 5xing the button was his standard and I really didn't want him to 4bet his obvious value range vs my TT. I do like the idea of smaller bet on river, it's something I will be incorporating into my game.
hand 3:
I called 66 in sb vs btn cos the btn's a nit, meaning he has a strong range, meaning I have ++implieds if I flop a set. He's a 6/0! pure setmine there for me. The 15/7, I put him on big A he flatted in the BB because he's didn't strike me as the 3betting type, nor the type to flat A6 or A7 there, 77 was also possible, obviously. Basically I had the best hand nearly always and was just trying to work out how to make the most money. I thought a c/r might make him fold AJ etc as it looks so strong there. I expected him to bet the turn with an ace and poss call c/r there instead, even though he probably shouldn't. I didn't really expect him to call the river very often but there was always the chance AQ or something does.
hand 4:
This was my first 3bet at table iirc, so I cbet thinking I'd get more credit + I had a bdfd. I liked the idea of turn betsizing so river bet is still scary, somthing I need to pay attention to.
I noted he folds to cbets a lot, so he def has made hand on turn, so I checked it not expecting him to fold very often. On the river I bet scare card and failed
You're right that a J isn't that scary there but the hand he showed up with was the sort of hand I was hoping he'd fold. Optimistic? I constantly hear the bet, check, bet line is strong from tags so I try to bluff that line occasionally.
hand 5: yay, I played one right! ![]()
hand 6: Interesting to think about stack sizes vs c/r on flop. With 150 you're right that I shouldn't have feared the likely c/r. That was a weird hand and my opponent is a v. weird player who did all sorts of oddball shit. The hand was discussed elsewhere on the forums, I think I'll dig it out.
Anyway, cheers tuba and ybother, you've given me (and hopefully others) plenty to think about. I've not had my play analysed like that before and I now see how valuable that can be.
Hey identifier, maybe an off topic question. I play on ongame myself, and I can get my HUD to display the stats I've setted up. How did you got yours working?

At first it just put them all over the place. Now I've got them setup so they work as long as I 'change seats' to the bottom middle seat. tbh, it was a right hassle getting it to work and I can't quite remember how I did it. I think I set the preferred seat to 8, but that could just be co-incidence.
In other news I am back and donking off like an idiot at 50nl on ongame. I think it'll take me a while to get back into this ![]()

Thanx for the reply, but I was thinking about the HUD stats, VPIP, PFR and so on. I have changed the default to my preferences but it's a hole other one that pops up. Do you know what I mean?

Oh that? It's always been like that. I didn't have to do anything. You can modify it under HUD popup options but I don't remember ever doing so.
Yeah I can't understand it i've asked support but haven't heard anything yet. But thanx anyways
hey Cam, in the "table manager" right click on the table and choose what preferences you want.
You can add me at g00sfraba@hotmail.com if you want.
Cheers

Hehe yeah I know that feeling.
I did, thought you did pretty well, but watched on my ipod while working, so I haven't seen it in depth. But will surely post once I do.

Do we fold to any significant bet on the river here? Given the fact this guy doesn't seem too aggressive on later streets, I guess it's a fold; but what about a more aggro opponent? It seems like this might be a good bluffing oppurtunity for someone like that. I guess my question is, at what point and with what sort of villan would you consider calling say a 1/2 pot bet on the river? I just ask because I'm a horrible, spewing calling station.

Hi !
Good to see Euro vids.
One question: You made quite specific comments on villain at blind vrs blind hand, his aggression on later streets etc. We have only 40 hands sample size. Sample is way too small to make a specific reads for post flop analysis. Even PRF its kinda of so and so. Thoughs ???
