I liked the idea for the Q&A originally, but after watching this I realize the forums are a much better medium for answering questions. Only 1 of these questions interested me so it felt like a different episode topic would have been more beneficial.

Also, the standard for DC vids is 50-60 min. I have to admit I've been disappointed with the episode length of your videos. You keep alluding to all of this great info and a possible second season, but I wish you would have made a greater effort to include more content THIS season.

In addition, and I say this with as much Heart as can be conveyed over the internet, but please stop pimping your book so much. We get it. There's a lot of great info in your book, but we come here and watch these videos to get that info in a different medium. If we wanted to read/buy the book, I'm sure people will have done so by now. It just gets a tad bit annoying to constantly hear someone pimp their product instead of using that time to explain more concepts.

This series did help me and I don't want it to seem like I'm bashing you or the whole series. I thank you for your efforts and hope you consider my grievances with an open mind. This is strictly some constructive criticism should there be a second season.

Okay. Not sure how to follow that up.

I definitely thought this series was far superior to "No More Couch Potato"

The earlier episodes on time management and goal setting have had a huge impact on me as I've implemented the suggestions that Travis gave. I've also sought further resources on some of these topics and have discovered just how much deeper those topics could have gone if wanted.

Noted! I tried this type of video after a few people asked for it, but I'll try and keep them a little bit more focused on subject matter from here on out.

At the beginning of this series we though that the sweet spot for these would be 30-35 minutes. That said, some people have recently been calling for longer videos so I'll see if I can accommodate Smile

Marketing the book is one of the reasons I agreed to make the series, but sure, I'll try and tone it down a little.

I appreciate the input! Without constructive criticism we would have fewer ways to know where our flaws are, and no way to improve upon them!

The CR series was done before the book was written, and I was pretty much just winging it. That was the very beginning of the concept. IMO, looking back, that series was pretty weak.

Great to hear that you're seeing some benefits from some of this. I encourage you to look to some of the other areas that were covered as well, as they all work hand in hand!

If someone instructed you to do so, then obv disregard my comments. I was unaware of that fact. I will discuss it with the rest of the content management team and we can all adjust if there is in fact more episodes.

I was also unaware that the marketing aspect was an agreed upon condition. Still can't hurt to tone it down, but this explains a lot and I don't hold it against you if this was in fact a condition.

Thanks again for the series. The time management and goal setting episodes really helped a lot.

One more question - you mentioned that it would likely be expensive to get someone to actually personally configure some sort of diet program, but due to lack of time and knowledge, this is kind of what I'm looking for to help me reach a healthier diet. Can you recommend someone or point me in the direction of a website or something to help me find this?

I just wanted to say that I appreciate how receptive you all have been so far. As new as this concept is, I wasn't sure how much resistance there would be to some of the topics.

However, aside from a few disagreements in the nutrition section (which never fails Smile ) everyone has seemed very receptive, and most seem to be really trying to put everything to use. As a coach there's nothing better! When people really truly want to improve, it makes my job much easier and it makes their progress much quicker.

Prior to this series my exercise routine was very sporodic, and my dietery construction and supplimentation were poor. Even though by week 3 I was attending the gym every day, I feel it was this video series that helped motivated me. That said, I do beleive rewatching the videos from the beginning is going to be needed as my time management and game film skills, although better, are still not where I want them to be.

I know I've said it before, but thank you Travis. I look forward to next season.

I'd like to clarify a few of my questions:

On peanut butter: I was told by a reliable source that if you feel mentally fatigued eating some peanut butter will give you back your edge quickly without the crash that comes from the sugar content. I eat a tbs of peanut butter anytime I feel like my mind is getting run down; should I continue to do so? What about all natural Almond butter?

On Sleep: Is there a (substantial) downside to being nocturnal?

I would love for this series to continue as a weekly podcast! Please think about it!

I always love hearing things like this.

Also, know that your need to re-review the videos isn't something that's isolated to you. I recommend this to anyone and everyone from time to time. Anything to keep that spark lit! Keep up the good work man.

This is interesting. I'll have to look into this more to be sure, but my first inclination says that this may not be the case. That said, I'd love to check out the resource that you saw this on, send it around to other performance coaches, etc. and get other opinions.

On Sleep: Is there a (substantial) downside to being nocturnal?

Well besides being really pale (lol) and a potential reduction in human interaction, as long as your body has a regular sleep schedule for an extended period of time you should be able to perform well.

I would love for this series to continue as a weekly podcast! Please think about it!

I'll look into this Smile

Hey Tecmo,
Here is one (absdietonline). I think there is a 15 day FREE trial for the online personalized program (workout and diet).

I liked this book, as it talks about the problems with all of the fad diets. Actually makes eating fun, not like a punishment. The book's author is the editor for Men's Health Magazine.

Check out the The Abs Diet Power 12 Foods. Keep these foods around for snacking.

@ Sneakers: I was talking to Travis. Gosh, you're so rude. Smile

This site seems dedicated to weight loss and...well...abs lol.

Simply input how much time you have, what you like to eat, and your goals: The Abs Diet Online will create a weight-loss plan just for you.

• Lose your belly and reveal amazing abs!
• Burn fat faster with delicious foods you love!
• Stay motivated with support and guidance from
experts

I'm more interested in just finding foods I like (I'm picky) which are healthy and easy to make and sort of planning a weekly diet type thing. Do you still think this site will help? It does say it will create a plan, but I'm actually happy with my weight (I'm 6'3" 200 lbs) and am not looking to lose weight per se, just eat healthier.

You forgot "a better sex life". lol
All are benefits of healthy eating. Trim stomach line is just a good clue you are eating/exercising correctly (and a nice goal).

I am too cheap to pay monthly for a site subscription like that, but it is obviously cheaper than paying for a diet-coach. I'm sure the book is in your local library. Check it out. Just good common sense stuff IMO.....and easy reading.

Here is another book by Men's Health for easy recipes (few ingredients). Smile

Upon looking back at previous emails, it looks like the DC staff was actually wanting vids that were at least 35 minutes in length. If a video ran shorter than that, it's nobody's fault but mine as I must have mis-remembered that guideline. If future videos are made, they will definitely be longer.

I was also unaware that the marketing aspect was an agreed upon condition. Still can't hurt to tone it down, but this explains a lot and I don't hold it against you if this was in fact a condition.

There wasn't really a set number of times I could mention it in the contract or anything like that, so if you feel that it was mentioned too much, again - nobody's fault but mine :S

The peanut butter thing was actually given to me by a coach on another site and I neglected to ask him to cite his sources, but I know he reads a lot about brain function. I've been using peanut butter (1 tbs or so) as a pick-me-up snack for around a year and so far it's worked very well to improve my energy, focus and mood and I have yet to notice the sugar crash that you would expect (especially since I've only been using the sugary big name stuff, so far).

I asked the same question of my doctor a couple of years back, and he said that lots of new research is demonstrating that sunlight positively effects mood and cognition via hormones, neurotransmitters, etc. Here is an article I found that you might be interested in.

Absolutely. The next episode is on exercise and recovery. I thought that covering nutrition step by step may be more helpful for some people as it can be a topic with a lot of haze and confusion surrounding it, but if you felt it was overkill I apologize.

Cool. Some runners who need quick energy and don't have supplements on hand may have some peanut butter, but I don't know of any type of peanut butter that's low GI (the slow, sustainable energy you were referring to). It can also be a semi-decent option for endurance athletes or strength athletes who need serious calories.

Hey Travis really enjoyed your series thus far. Hoping to implement a lot of the time management stuff both in my professional and personal life.

I just wanted to make a point about 'Lite' Beer (Low Carb Here in Australia, the same thing as I understand it)

(My understanding is) The carbohydrates contribute to negligible caloric intake as one gram of carbohydrate, when consumed, yields 4 calories. In comparison one gram of alcohol, when consumed, yields 7 calories. Thus, the difference between a low carb (Lite) beer and a normal one is really negligible. One common example cited here is that you need to drink 4 low carb beers to save one 'normal' one. Further, working on the low carb idea, vodka would be the ultimate weight watchers drink having zero carbohydrates. However, it contains (around) the same total energy as a low carb beer. The message is that it's the alcohol that causes the caloric intake and if you want to consume less, then drink low alcohol beer not low carbohydrate beer. Yeah, that's palatable. Most weight gain from beer is not from the 16 you had, it's from the pizza, pie and Kebab you had with those beers and the greasy breakfast you had the next morning to try and shake the hangover, and then sitting on your couch all day feeling sorry for yourself.

I apologise if this comes across as petty, it just shits me that the beer companies have marketed Lite and Low Carb beers as some sort of healthy alternative.

PS It all tastes like Piss. I've heard Bear Grylls loves it.
