Yesss please Bones,More like this would be just fine.
more steps, more satellites please!
Very cool & informative video. Looking forward to the Step 2's & on through. Talk goggles into making or helping out.
Good video.
Even though I'm not planning to ever play a bunch of step sngs for a ridiculously small chance of winning a seat I'm still interested in your satellite calculations.
Nice to see what got our very own opening graphics.
VERY interested in seeing step 2 - 6!!!
About the QQ hand against the 120 raise... just ship it in preflop, he's not folding EVER. I hate your regular 3bet even with aces cause he's likely to miss the flop and you don't get his whole stack all the time, and with queens it's even better to just ship preflop since you'll avoid the sticky spot you got into now.
Ed: At 29min, why on earth do you fold QJ for a minraise? You know there are other options besides folding and shoving...

I think there is a case to be made for shoving the queens, but I don't think "he's not folding EVER" is that case. At the time I felt like a standard to largish 3 bet was best vs his entire range.
As for the QJ, I think it's fairly close between all 3 options. I've found that preflop pressure is much more effective in steps than postflop pressure in situations like that. I think my button limp a few hands later demonstrates that I'm aware of the various options afforded to me by the Stars software.
Love the idea for the series. Absolute and UB have similar Steps, although they are $.10 step 1's. More fishy, but cheaper BI's. Gl with the steps. I'm working my way through the middle steps. Was able to sit with a UB pro in step 7
Good sng vid.

Idunno I guess you've never tried it because I found that people at those low stakes just never fold pre after raising 4bb if it's not an insane overbet cause they always have a hand they like but ideally don't want to see a flop with (something vulnerable such as AK/AQ, 77-QQ). You lose a lot of action by 3betting smaller since they can miss flops or hit ugly overcards. Maybe they're not "not EVER" folding pre but you lose a lot more action from an ugly flop since there's not a single flop that his entire range stacks off on.
Oh and should he fold preflop it's not the end of the world as you do pick up 165 chips without showdown, and it's definitely better than the situation you got into now, which is going to occur a lot (not sure how often an overcard flops with queens, but I'm guessing it's about 25-30%?)
QJhand:
I see what you mean with the preflop aggression, but the guy was minraising all the time and I still think it's criminal to fold QJ getting like 4:1 in position if you're ahead of his range a decent amount (at his frequency I'm sure he was minraising crap like 89o). I think an optimal strategy would be to fold the very worst hands, call the medium hands and shove the stronger ones and call AA/KK. I think I'd call hands as weak as 89o and 56s to the minraise to be honest.
Btw sorry if I sounded a bit eratic in the previous post, I was just really surprised/confused by some of your plays. Some bad influence from other forums where you have to exeggerate to make your point across as well ![]()
I think the QQ is a call, the guy pretty much instapushes and seems somewhat like a maniac, I'm pretty sure ur an actual favorite against his range and with those pod odds and being very early in the tournament u can't fold imo.
