DD,
Omaha 8, I see as a good game for Rocks. you need to show the nuts a lot.
2-7 seems like a good game for a weak tight player, at least until they figure out you play that way. so perhaps at the lower limits.
At the higher limits way more snowing, way more turn raises to gain a break, and way more squeezes are present.
While I agree a good player should have some B/F in his game. This sure seems like a game, especially at the higher limits, that B/F could get you in big trouble.
I noticed that the player you respected put in lots of action on the turn, I think he was doing this to 1) sometimes give his opponent a chance to make a mistake and 2) more define hand strength as to make his river decision easier.
Do you agree, or have a comment on any of this?
really excellent vid BTW, a good watch/learn for a player of any game.

Mickey,
Either B/F too much or too little can get you in a lot of trouble in these games. Oogee went through a period where he would always b/c, so on the river if he drew and made 10, he would lose 2 bets every time he was beat. Obviously, this is going to be at least as much of a problem over time as b/f too often- and most opponents don't adjust to add bluff raises into their games. When an opponent does this will become quickly apparent.

what is snowing?
When you pat early with a hand that you don't expect to win and bet bet bet bet, hoping that your opponent either gives up right away or bricks out and folds on the end. I enjoy snowing thoroughly, of course, but I've also learned during the series that it is best used like a scalpel rather than a bludgeon.

im always folding predraw here... is that too tight?
I kinda hate 456 these days so I guess that's fine but there are plenty of other crappy hands that I think are must plays in that spot (bad player limps, ok player isolates from button), like 357, 458, etc.

is that the only 7 2cd w/o a deuce that you are 3betting to get the pot HU vs the fish? what is the worst 2cd 8 that you 3bet here?
Well I think that spot was kind of unique because he was quite a bad player and we were really trying to get into spots with him. Normally I fold that pre against competent people. To answer your second question I guess 358 would be it.

Do you think that he was just slowplaying here thinking he could really only get one raise in so might as well do it at the end where you are likely to payoff? He may have thought sticking in more action on previous draws would scare off his customer. I am obviously new to this game and don't have the skills you do, but I was really expecting him to have a slowplayed 7 here when he c/red on the end.

I mean sure I guess that is what he is thinking. It's just a really bad play though, in particular because he went from 2 to pat after the first draw, his hand just looks "weak", also he is going to (I would hope) from time to time make a play in a similar spot hoping we break or fold, so you can balance spiking a monster and jamming it by semibluffing every now and then. Mostly I think he was just worried we would break something and have nonzero equity against him (which is weak nit scared thinking instead of thinking about getting huge value).
