Great content as usual!
If you aren't going to do live vids I would prefer the recorded ones that you can go over rather than replayer imo.
YESSSSSSSS
Just signed on for DC, and have watced a couple of videos. Have to say that yours was way best so far of the ones I have seen.
You explain very good your thoughts about what you are doing.
Loved the video, as a 50nl FR grinder on FTP it was great to see that the games are still easily beatable up into the mid stakes. please please please make more ![]()
Thanks for all the compliments guys.
Feel free to ask me any Q's you may have about the video.
if you aren't going to make more live play vids i'd prefer the replaying a session format.
but i really love your live play vids ![]()
Thanks for all the compliments guys.
Feel free to ask me any Q's you may have about the video.
If you want people to actually talk about strategy in video threads then you have to play some hands badly - noob.
I have a couple of questions and I will post them when get home so I can quote time stamps.
Regarding the format of your vids, its good to mix it up but whatevers good for you tbh. Nice to hear there is more on the way regardless.
live play vids > anything else
I thought that Too Eazy couldv'e been you playing. What were you doing playing 100NL a week or two ago?

Nolan,
Cool video. I've really enjoyed all that you put out. Looking forward to the replayer stuff you have planned. I for one would like these more than the live session stuff.
I have some poker discussion questions if you're still around to answer...
On the subject of flatting AA and KK vs an EP open... I am wondering where AK fits into this. I guess in a balanced strategy you'd have to cold-call with this too? Is CCing with AK vs EP open (in a vacuum) best anyway. I think I have heard that from good players before but I have usually been 3-banging AK, especially when offsuit. Also, are you flatting AA and KK vs a very small EP open raise? I can't bring myself to just call here for that much and even 3-bet with QQ and JJ here. Is this strategy flawed? One last question on the subject if you don't mind... Do you think we should still flat with a coldcaller between us? I take it you reraise AA and KK, and possibly less when there are at least two callers...
In this vid you say it's bad to 3bang an EP open with QQ. I've seen you do it from the blinds in your second video at the 12:30 mark. You were about 140 bets deep when you did it. What is the theory here? Don't want to give a decent player a chance to outplay you postflop with position?
39:00 We open AQ from C/O SB pushes just over 100 BBs. As a 200NL player I can't really understand how you and other good players can advocate calling with anything but KK+ here. My own experience says an out of the blue push here is AA the vast majority of the time. But it happens so rarely I'll never know for sure I guess.
Again, you make great DC vids, and like every second poster in this thread, I want to see a 8 part FR series from you.

AK fits in just as AA and KK does. You don't have to NEVER 3-bet with these hands, rather against certain (read: very tight) opponents, you're usually minimizing you value from hands like KK/AA/AK when you re-raise them pre as you'll almost never get action from worse hands. With cold callers in between, it depends on the number of callers and your confidence level in your post flop reads. I may take a 3 way pot with AA or KK in position, but maybe not if I'm worried about getting outplayed by one of the people. 4-way + and I'm probably putting in a squeeze, as I would with a bluff on occasion as this line is mega ultra strong.

When stacks are a little deeper, there's some more merit to putting in the reraise. 1) You don't neccesarily have to pot commit yourself. It's plausible to get away from the hand on a dry board with the right reads etc. for 150+bb's. And 2) You hit the nail on the head, I'd rather take the aggressive route in this scenario then leave myself susceptible to being outplayed 150bb+ deep with QQ out of position. (It's almost never a mistake to get it all in on a 972r with QQ for 100bb's, but at 200bb + it can be very difficult to play oop).

It might be a mistake to only be calling these shoves with AA/KK. If it's the first revolution at the table and you know nothing of the player, than it is fine. But if he seems at all irratic or psycho then it's only sensible to strip down your calling range.
Hope that was of some help/clarification.
-Sean.
P.S. You avatar is creepy.
What is that piece of kit or software that brings HH up on the screen? Looks very nice and clear format.
