Chuck, when you talk about fading the cards behind you, you never mention the bring-in. In Stud8, especially this type of game, I'd expect the bring-in to defend a wide range.

This definitely seems like a game where your money is coming from the value of playing strong starters and then making the technically correct deicision on the big streets. Pushing too hard to steal the antes seems like a spew in this type of game.

Edit: I also want to add that this series was very well done. Hope to see more mixed game videos in future seasons. Maybe a little badugi and triple draw; gamble it up one time!

On the last hand, one thing to mention (which I didn't notice until you went back to the replayer) is that three jacks were dead. The only hands that QT5r is realistically peeling 5th with are (1) four card straight draw (very unlikely with dead Js), (2) queens up or trips, (3) horribly played queens or aces or some such.

So your equity on 6th street really isn't that good. Can you get trip queens to fold the river unimproved with a bet on 6th and 7th? In this game I doubt it.

BTW, would you have raised 7th if you made a high flush? I think that would have been a mistake. (Obviously you raise a flush that gives you a low as well for the freeroll.)

Yah Joe berates me for my bet later on.

With the low card making the flush for sure but yeah no raise on a bad spade imo.

I usually note the stubborn/non stubborn nature of whoever has the bring. I agree - a lot of the action comes from steals gone wrong. With the smaller antes you can def be a lot tighter on stars.

I would not really consider it all too much though vs. someone who comes in full at a decent frequency.

LOL @ at calling someone rickey...

I'm already finding myself calling it rickey in my head and laughing every time I look down at it, and I came close to putting it in the chat when some schmoe called down two low straight boards with a naked rickey! ewww! maybe I shouldn't call it that anymore. btw, 3/6 or 5/10 FTP, flippin' good games, imo

+1 for story time

people do defend with a wide range, but with a good image or the right situations you can really take down a bigger pot on 4th or 5th, or just get away on 4th, comes down to situations and dead money.

there's also the limp/steal against people defending the bring loosely. limping on 3rd in late position or when you're last to act and then stealing on 4th when you have a higher card and it looks like they bricked plus you get to act first giving terrible odds for them to call almost anything. anybody else use this, or am I a donkey for bringing it up? maybe it's a leak for me ...seems profitable so far... thoughts?
