Vanessa, is calling a 4bet with AQs 200BB deep really that terrible?
With the AQhh I like a call even though we are OOP. I agree its a sick spot to 4bet and I am not looking to ship in 200bb even w/ history at that point.
Another good video Duck. About the AA vs J9s hand. You mentioned you liked checking AA there. To c/c or c/r. If you c/c and a blank rolls off what are you doing and why?
Also two more related questions. If you are IP w/ J10 do you flat and raise turn or raise flop? If you are OOP with AAd how do you play the hand differently (if at all)?
FYI, the hand was J9ss opens OTB AcAh (or some diamondless AA) 3bets and flop is QJ10 two diamonds
winning players match next week plzplzplzplz
Good vid, much better than last week's, the fact that the video isn't constantly lagging certainly helps too.
Regarding the last hand (KhQ on AhQhxh) : I always call in this spot, don't know why I raised here (maybe because I thought picking up the pot right now was best in terms of HoodieEV :p). However I thought about it afterwards and I see a couple reasons why it might be good :
- We have good enough equity against any range that we don't mind getting it in.
- We usually have very low implied odds on our outs if we're behind.
- I know we don't get folds from better hands or calls/shoves from worse, but making a small flop raise might get us a free river card, which is better than having to call a turn bet on a blank especially since his bluffing frequency should be very low.
Anyway good job Vanessa, I definitely think this series is a great idea and I'm looking forward to seeing the next episodes.
(Oh and to SSankarAA : you vastly overestimate the level of the play at 1/2 if you think either of us isn't a winning player imo.)
on a side note terry said that this was his first hu match ever, so tbh i doubt hes a winning player atm at nl200hu
I beat 1/2 HU for a decent rate for a few months, and think I 4 bet as much in all 3 months combined as they did in this video. You REALLY don't need to get fancy to beat 1/2 imo, people usually have no clue what they are doing. Also kinda disappointed to see this match turn into a 2 parter.

thank you for your comment and I'm still working on my game.
definite improvement over last week
I actually liked the 2nd vid a lot. "the quality" of the play def has improved. I guess the first half of the match I was just getting my feet wet in the HU game and I've picked up a lot of things here and there and started to "fold" more in the 2nd half. I don't know what SSankarAA is complaining about but I actually think this video is quite educational to some degree. Thank you Vanessa.

I never said I'm a winning player at nl200 HU. But am a winning player in nl200 6m.
Ye you didnt, your opponent said tough that you were both winners at nl200 hu in response to the other comment, should have quoted him there sry
