i love the 3bet shove with A7s - it might seem like he can't be bluffing here but there's no value hand he would arrive with that he would need to raise turn with with these stacks and positions

<3 Baluga is def the truth...

He so seriously needs his own series again. He does an amazing job of breaking things down totally and giving a thorough and complete explanation.

Since we know hes isolating the fish with a wide range, does that means we can 3bet bluff this guy, expecting to take down the dead money a lot of the time?

Sweet vid. Quick question: you folded on the turn on the JT9T board holding QJs- is QQ pretty much the same hand here? You would take the same line right? How about KK-AA? It seems that you even have less equity with those 2 hands... Also, how do we become not exploitable on those flops- it seems that our opp has free range (no pun intended) to do what he likes to get us off a huge part of our holdings.

Now, bare with, I hope to not get rolled by Andrew again, but I'm going to give this a shot.

Yes QQ is practically the same hand. AA-KK are a little different as that puts more Qs in your opponents range, obviously, and you have to be sure what he will do with a draw on such a flop.

That board is going to hit a wide part of our range fairly strongly, most of the time so I would think any player taking a shot routinely would run into a wall. We did call the flop after all w/no intention of folding a brick.

This is sorta where I was going when I wanted to 3-bet the raiser, but we end up isolating the good player, versus, playing a 3-way pot with a hand that could flop very well and make a TON of chips with such a weak player involved and position.

Say in the same spot we don't have AJ. We have trash. But we know the good player is isolating the fish with a huge range, therefore we is it almost profitable to raise any 2 knowing that he is going to fold a very large % of the time.

What happens if we have a stronger hand in this position QQ+/AK, do we raise for value? Effectively are we polarising our range, 3 betting trash and the nuts, calling with everything else?

Great video, I'm a huge fan.

not trying to roll you joe, haha, but QQ is by no means the same as QJ here. The key difference is that suddenly we beat KJ and AJ, two hands that he'd like pay off some money with. In fact QQ is significantly better than QJ. KK and AA may be slightly worse than QQ though due to equity considerations.
that said, vs many opponents calling the c/r and then folding the turn is perfectly legitimate with our weaker, 1-pair holdings. This is because people will rarely continue to bluff into us, especially on that T turn, because we can easily hold sets, straights, two pairs, turned trips or boats, or hands like overpairs or pair+draws that you guys rarely fold anyway.

Argh. I am going to file a disclaimer. I didnt get much sleep when I posted this (and I'm old and need my sleep). I fcking knew this answer w/QQ and I'm sad I set myself up to be rolled.

However, I do like my comment about Qs being live when we hold AA-KK, imo.

I only had one problem w/ this video.....wtf w/ the chat? You should cut & paste the chat from those hands. (I think you chatted before shipping TP A vs set of 6s & a few other places.)

This would complete my poker education!

Anything in the works for part 2 of this? I've really enjoyed listening to Kai's thought process on full ring in the CTp2 series as well.

If you like this one, Baluga was also a guest coaching on WWJTD, I think EP8.

I'm just wondering why he can't have A5s, 75s, 65s, 54s in the A7s hand.

Could you leave a time-stamp? This video is over 8 months old.

Better yet, watch this: http://www.deucescracked.com/videos/866-Using-the-Flash-Video-Player and leave a time link, much easier for coaches to find the hand and answer your questions, thanks.

oh, I'm sorry but this series and especially Joe Tall are so great that I have to keep rewatching this all the time Grin

What I meant is the turnspot where villain raised hero's delayed cbet. Of course it's pretty unlikely that he shows up with 5x all that often but it sounds like you completely excluded those hands from his range.
