great video lots of interesting discussion
The hand just prior to the last. The AK vs AQ when villian catches 2nd pair on river. I am stunned that the villian did not raise and simply called this on the river. I was hoping to hear you guys discuss what a horrible play by the villian but it didn't happen. I know the focus is on the hero and understandably but I think we missed a spot to emphasize value betting especially on the river even if it is the villian. I think I min c/r here puts eric in very tough spot where I guess it puts eric in the crying call mode and how to avoid it even though the price is just sooo good.
I disagree completely with Sam's analysis of the last hand. The turn barrel is fine, checking is also fine. Betting builds the pot for when you hit, it also might fold out hands like Ax that called the flop loosely. By the river, the opponents hand looks like a weak pair (something like 76, 88, etc.). He could have also had an Ax or some hand that picked up a backdoor flush. I agree he's never folding a queen but I think he folds a lot of his weak pairs, and I think the bet has to be +EV. He's definitely folding more than 40% of the tim here.

I also didn't really mind the turnbet as his range for calling could be very wide and he'd have to fold alot of it. But what do I know? ![]()
Boy, skip to 3:30 if you dont wanne here the blabla about redsox
Good video non the less.
Nice video.
However i think the call on the river with 99 is bad. When he call the flop he has showdown value, even if he flat a FD on the river they are very very few combo of FD which doesn't have showndown equity, and in a spot were we rep very well AK,AQ i don't think he will bluff with hands which have showdown equity. Yes we are at the top of your range but it's not a consideration against a NL50 player imo.
nice vid, really liked analysis on QJ hand
