Yes, we're definitely still calling the 3bet OOP. That hand plays extremely well postflop, especially in heads-up pots.
Just for the record, some of these vids were made when the conditions in the games were a bit different with 3-betting. Far fewer people 3betting non-aces, everyone assuming you always have aces when you do. Some adjustments for those changes, if you notice they are happening, should be the make sure you ARE 3-betting your aces if they are pretty good, and then tighten up 3betting (lower runs like 3456 are probably not good enough as they don't connect hard enough).
Anyway, I am adding a few videos to the later part of the series (two live game time review and one hand history based) that should be very useful if you do find yourself in these more amped up games (especially 3-6 and higher, I've noticed).
what is the stats you use in the hud?
is this gonna be 9 episode long?
is this gonna be 9 episode long?
Yes, we'll be releasing 9 episodes since we released 2 episodes in the first week.

great video vanessa i really get more out of these kinds of videos as opposed to ghost videos
good video, much better than episode 2 imo :0
One question regarding calling 4-bets with 1 PSB left on the flop: I always hear that this is one of the best situations to be in (I read the same thing in Slotboom's PLO book), and now you said, we would be winning about 75 to 80 percent of the time when we put money in on the flop, i. e. call the 4-bettors flop-bet. I
But this is wrong. We are getting 2:1 on our money on the flop, so we have to stack off a lot lighter (with 33 % pot equity). With QhJh9h2h you have 34 % equity against AAxx (including trips) on a 632 rainbow flop - and should stack off. So, how can we be a 75 % favourite on average?
Did I miss something, do we hit THAT many favourable flops or is there a pretty fundamental error in the video?
Yeah, I suppose I misspoke which probably conveyed pretty false information. Thanks for bringing that to my (and everyone else's attention).
I guess the main point to take from this is if your pot odds justify calling at any point, you should call. Hot and cold against aces we have the pot odds to call preflop, and then there are many more flops that we will be correct to call all-in on than just the times we are already far ahead. What I meant was that often when we were ahead we would be very far ahead (if we're playing strong hands preflop), but once again I got the math a little confused and conveyed some incorrect information. My apologies. In the future I'll try to use less colloquial math and be more exact if I am going to use percentages. Often we will have just a pair and some backdoors, only be 40% to win, but still need to call as we're getting 2:1 or better on what is now an all-in bet from our opponent.
looking forward to the next 1
I always enjoy Vanessa's videos as she really puts an effort to them and she is just a very solid/witty player. I hope I can take something out of this to my own game as so many of the ideas in her videos are veeeeery profitable.
Thanks.
Thanks for the vid venessa i'm enjoying the series. I have only played 3 sessions of PLO to date and have enjoyed the last 2, the first was a learning curve that cost me =)
PLO is a great game can't wait to learn more about it and play more.
